recommend to use ext2 or ext3 for dns323?
wow good infoif you are concerned over write-cycle limits especially for the WD Green power drives, then EXT2 is a better choice. There is journalling for EXT3 so there will be much writes going on all the time. This is why for Flash media they prefer EXT2 to preserve life of the thumbdrive.
Back to EXT2 if you use this, please be careful to always do a proper shutdown.
EXT2 has a need to check the file system after an unclean shutdown whereas EXT3 with the journalling can allow sudden shutdown without any problem.
-$ telnet 192.168.22.123
Trying 192.168.22.123...
telnet: connect to address 192.168.22.123: Connection refused
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host
try using static ip instead i got the same prob after upgrading to FW1.08

DNS-323 isn't a good buy and slow in response and laggy from my experience..... I prefer Thecus N2200 with Ajax !!![]()
AJAX for the web UI? Like I care!
I don't know what you're smoking but most NAS boxes at this price range have a similar throughput. Just because you have it doesn't mean it is better.
Need some help here. I have successfully upgrade my DNS323 firmware to 1.08. I'm getting firmware upload error when I tried to upload Firefly and BT addon. Following is the message I got:
Firmware Upload Error!
The uploaded file was not accepted by the DNS-323. Please return to the previous page and select a valid upgrade file
Any help is very much appreciated.
Bro, at first I also have this issue and trust me, there is nothing wrong with your DNS-323. Basically we need to OPEN OUR EYES and read - it's an ADD-ON. Dlink started with the Add-on thingy from v1.08 onwards. To install the addon, go to your "Advanced"(else could be under "Tools") tab. There should be a "Add-on" inside the left panel that allows you to install the addon.
In case you are using any Network Access control, take note that 1.08 does not support mix privileges. Meaning you cannot have "All account" access and "User access" at the same time. Otherwise, you can ignore this issue.
