KoK I only trust Combat. They were the 1st to bring it in.

I have yet to try the ex Combat guy's KoK.. So I cannot comment on that.

Cheap doesnt mean fake. Expensive also doesnt mean real. Thats why i choose to go reputed stores nia ~

Even reputed stalls, if the sellers know you, then you have a higher chance of getting better durians. First time buyers really depends on luck. Coz for MSW, there may be fruits which those sellers got from their suppliers which are better and some not so good. And usually the sellers would reserve their better stock for regulars.

Rare breed.

Rare breed u say? I guess there's 2 sides of a coin.

Agree, I first ate this breed in 2006 and its pretty rare in SG because there are far more superior cultivats thanks to intense marketing. Gan Hai has been around SG for the longest time, just nobody notices it and the low profit margin as compared to other cultivars.

Disagree, in Malaysia context. Its very common in Pekan Nanas, Pontian where the old old trees reside. And boy do they taste good. I rather have this and good ol' Green Bamboo anytime over MSW and the likes. A pity many trees - old favorites were cut down to make way for MSW especially.

Cheers
