No idea why on my LG magic remote, only Power Button only able to learn.
The rest of the buttons had no response.
Read online that LG magic remote communicates with TV via Bluetooth for some functions.. maybe that's why?

oh.. magic remote, that's prob why.
not sure if you can get your hands on a normal LG remote that can control your tv (other LG models may work too, companies tend to use the same signals across models). then learn from that remote?

Alexa -> rm pro -> cable channel switch right ?

Yes, learn the cable remote in RM pro IHC app as tv template, then name it cable or sumthing, enable broadlink skill in Alexa, discover devices, ask Alexa to change channel to 825 for example.

My IHC app just decided to forget all the sequence in my "Scenes"... Faint. When I enter my Scenes, it's empty!
Think still buggy....
BTW, found that I can't remote control via mobile data with IHC, but works for e-control.
I don't have an Android device, so LPPL gotta stick with IHC...

Do you use "TV" or "User defined" in IHC for cable remote? Does it make a difference?

Its always tv template in ihc app if u wana use alexa voice control. Yep.

Im using android 7.1... E-remote and ihc both can work via mobile data... I've seen people mentioning abit buggy on iPhones. but so far Android i dun encounter any major issues.

Thanks shacboi! I need to redo everything when my echo arrives.
BTW, can Alexa performs "scenes"-like similar function with RM pro? I know IHC scenes can't work with Alexa.
For eg, "Alexa, it's soccer night." Then light, TV, soundbar, setup box turns on..etc?

Unfortunately, Alexa unable to identify scene in ihc app as well.

BUT... Alexa got new function call Routine, and u can add all ur mentioned controls in there... Rename it to" Party time! " or anything... And yes. It will then light up your tv.. Soundbar... Lights.. Wateber u set in there. :s13:

My current cmd is" i am back" and alexa will help me turn on cable, lift my tv up... Turn on tv.. Two lights in livingroom and two bedroom lamps. :s12: lol

does every command needs to start with "Hi Alexa"?
In your case you need to say "Hi Alexa" then wait for it to turn blue? then say "I am back"?

yes, the wake word is mean to make ur echo devices listen to u.... u can change it to ''amazon'', ''computer'', ''echo'' if u dun lik default ''Alexa'',

so , every command needs the wake word, default case will be ''Alexa''.

''Alexa, i am back""
""Alexa, party time!""
"Alexa, illuminate"" :s13:

Does anyone has a good recommendation for 4 gang smart switches that's proven to work with RM pro or with Alexa? Searched online but found not much results...

Very noob in electrical stuff...hope the technical pros can advise.
If one of my switch in the 4gang is 2 way (there is another switch that controls the same light), should I be buying a 4 gang 2way or 1 way?

Lastly, anyone has solid contacts for electricians that can help with installation (with home automation in mind)?

Sorry for asking so many questions!

if ur rm pro+ using IHC app no problem,

chances is rm Pro+ still not supported by the Alexa Broadlink skill, u may want to contact Broadlink to confirm that.

Sharing with u guys...

My frd wanted buy a rm pro.. So got chat wit a seller.. The seller confirmed tat rm pro+ is newer version with better specs but functionality is the same. However do note that it is currently not supported by Alexa Broadlink skill yet. So using apps is fine, but not Alexa.

Not sure when this will be incorporated into Alexa broadlink skill. :look:
