Need to setup in rm pro ihc app to control the light then can link to Alexa.

Alexa -> rm pro -> rf light switch -> light

that mean to say need to have Neutral wire to to have the switch to be control right?
hope i did not get it wrong

Im excited!

But a few concerns

1. ID’s electrician not savvy enough to discuss
2. ID’s electrician charge high for neutral wire

same for me for No.2. As my house has concealed wiring, this mean additional cost to incurred to hack it to run a neutral to all point

yea, means u ON or OFF light, beside lookin at physical light or the switch button lighted, u wun noe thru the app as no status feedback.

oic. no neutral means no feedback to the apps but there will be still status light on the switch itself. thks for the infor

Eh i dun really know if the neutral wire affects the feedback in these cases... But seems lik the rm pro compartible wall switches usually are RF controlled.. And thus no feedback of status. cos RF is more of one-way.. it doesnt return the signal back to RM PRO....

i tink most Wifi wall switches shld be 2-way, so will have feedback... but wifi wall switches usually requires neutral wire.

I intend to get a broadlink motion sensor in the toilet using IFTTT.
So if detect motion then on light.
Can I also command it to if no motion detect for 3mins then off light?
Is the 2nd command possible? Still very new to this. Thanks!

aH har!

i just ordered the broadlink s2c hub kit wanted to try out, still OTW...

but wat i understand from reading is that ur 2nd command is valid too.

the motion sensor will sense... on ur light...... den u can set it to no sensing within a timing and den off the light.....

but the IFFFT u mentioning is to RM PRO right ?? becos i tink broadlink products can only apply IFFFT for its own product, which is RM PRO, not to other brands yet.

at least thats wat i understand.... not sure if correct. :s13:

Yes that's right!
Currently I don't have any smart home devices yet. Still in my planning stage and not familiar with IFTTT.
That's why not sure if IFTTT have this option if no motion sensed within 3 mins then off light.
I'm also interested in their environment sensor a1.

Cool!
I will get it once I start my renovation!
Wanted to get the TC2 switch but we don't like the vertical orientation.
My Wife prefer the yoogee as she can customise her icons on the switch.

arr.. yes TC2 switch, i never tot was an issue with orientation till sumbody point out that Yoogee one is horizontal.. yea n comes wit a remote, mayb yoogee wall switch will be better choice.

u lucky .. .wife ok, im trying to convince my wife to change current hse switches to smart ones... havent successful yet. lol :s13:

I guess it's easier coz we are doing renovation now.
Probably will ask electrician to quote the price for running an extra neutral wire to provision for the other smart switches.
Haha what is stopping her?

if u doing neutral wiring den u hav alot more better options wit other brand smart switches, but take note earlier i mentioned that the broadlink motion sensor's IFFFT only applies to their own product , in this case the RM Pro.

broadlink motion sensor -> hub -> rm pro (RF) -> livolo/yoogee/broadlink TC2 ( all RF) switches

so if u use other brand wall switches which giv u feedback status via Wifi(non-RF / not link to RM Pro)... i dun tink the broadlink motion sensor can ''activate'' the on/off on the switch.

my wife is particular bout the hse aesthetic... the theme... she tinks the smart wall switches glass surface lik dun suit my hse. hahaa. :D

Oh I see. Thanks for the heads up.
The other smart switches with wifi cabability cannot link with rm pro?

If I'm not wrong there are some smart switches that look like normal ones. Ie without the glass panel

rm pro only uses only either IR or RF... so ur other smart switches uses wifi and not RF... the 2 of them won't 'talk' ... so cannot be use together.

and if u using broadlink motion sensor.. hub...A1 products etc, they only talk to their own broadlink products sadly. As for why earlier i mentioned Livolo & Yoogee wall switches able to 'talk' to RM pro is bcos the 2 switches uses RF also, and not Wifi.

my hse oso no neutral wiring therefore choices are limited, will try to convince my wife....slowly. haha :s13:

I see. But if now I introduce Alexa or Google home will it work with my wifi smart switch in this config?
Sensor - hub - rm pro - Alexa/Google - wifi switch?
Haha wonder if so many device in between the lag is significant or not.
