RF Switches dont report state change. So no switch that work with broadlink has that. You'll need wifi, zwave or zigbee switches and the respective hub/apps

Urgghh.. I see, thanks for the info.. I guess a different off/on command should suffice for now, do you have any recommendations to share? :D

Ok thanks, so it is true that they do use different frequencies for their remote?

Worried now because it seems like the luck of the draw whether the fan can be controlled by Broadlink.

Besides 433MHz, I suppose 315MHz should be fine since Broadlink can learn that frequency too.

Are there other frequencies that FANCO remotes use which will not be compatible with Broadlink?

I guess I also having some issue with the Fanco Fan Remote Control initially after upgrading from the old RM Pro to the Latest RM4 Pro and thought that the New BroadLink App cannot configure the remote of the Fanco Fan but I finally notice the problem when adding the Remote Control into the App.

When you want to add the Appliance into the App, you must select the RF Frequency and not the IR as Fanco Fan Remote uses RF Frequency to control the Fan and not IR so take note.

Hope the above helps.

Hello guys, I've been trying to connect my rm pro+ to broadlink app and ihc app for the past 2 days, but the error "Setup failed - we are so sorry the device can not be connected to the network" keeps appearing.

Basically my device cannot connect to my wifi, but I have been using 2.4g network already.

Anyone knows how to troubleshoot it? I've been looking around for answers but to no avail..

Look for your broadlink sg support? Assuming you bought from them..

I have manage to learn the remote for Fanco Fan in Broadlink app but it seems that Google Home do not support RF Remote and that option did not appear on Google Home app.

Anyone knows any workaround?

try create just a LAMP template, using the off and on button to learn the fanco fan, google home can 'link' the lamp template from broadlink only

Have u solve the connection issue? I also faced this issue previously. Due to some unknown reason, the pairing of rm pro to home wifi is a pain to connect.

The only way which I was able to connect is by creating a guest wifi network WITHOUT setting a password. However I only set and allows certain devices MAC ID to connect to the open wifi. One of it of course is rm pro and my phone which I used to setup the pairing.

** username and password has already set to simplest form and on 2.4GHz but cannot pair

i try to set an Off and On but because RF does not report status, so for example, the light is OFF state. You send an OFF command, it will turn the light ON and vice versa.

i recently just changed router and changed my SSID and password. so i had to do the whole setup process again. I agree its a bloody pain in the arse to setup everything.

what i did was a factory reset of my RM pro, using a PIN and press the reset button till the blue LED is fast blinking. I'm using the new Broadlink app. Connect to my 2.4G wifi and use the "add device" function in app.

it wasn't able to scan new devices but allowed me to add via SSID of RM Pro. (meaning i need to connect to the rm_pro SSID in my wifi setting) after that it worked. then next is the pain to add all my S1 Alarm Kit, Power Extension, and Light switches.

my S1 Alarm Kit cannot be added at all no matter how i try. I have to go back to the old e-Control app, add them via QR Code of the devices (the new Broadlink app when i scan the QR code tells me unknown device!). Then save them to my cloud account. Then go back to Broadlink app, do a refresh, then a prompt "New Devices found. Do you wan to setup?". After that i manage to add the Alarm Kit, Door Sensor and IR sensor.

Lastly are the light switches. As they are not Broadlink branded, but 3rd party supported by Broadlink, there is also no way to add them via the app. I have to use the RF Remote to add them by RF scanning (Lucky i bought the remote last time). The Broadlink app takes quite an effort to scan the RF signals. I have to repeatedly press the button of the switch i wan to pair. Most of the time it fails and have to try and try. Its really not easy and i'm glad i finally got all light switches to pair.

i went the route to change the SSID as i have too many foreign IPs which i cannot identify. so what i did was after setting up the wifi, i will add each device 1 by 1 and name the devices in my router so i know which IP belongs to which device.

I see. If that’s the case, you must well do address reservation. I did that for most of my devices.

yeap thats what i did. fixed IP for common connected devices like the RM Pro, phones, sensors and what not. its easier to managed and easier to identify foreign devices

Can I ask how do you get foreign devices if you have set a password for your SSID and done the necessary protection for your router? You mean to say they hack their way into your network?

Hey guys facing same issue connecting my RM4Mini and smart Wall plugs to my 2.4ghz.

It doesn't work for both standard WiFi pairing as well as AP mode.

I thought it was signal issue. But then I placed them RIGHT next to router also issue.

I tried restarting router After trying to pair... Then for some reason the broadlink app straight away connected.

But it was momentary. I could remotely Control the devices. Thought it was solved. Then 30min later connection lost.

Using Asus86 router.

Is it Asus issue?

Using exact same router as you.
You using smart connect?
2.4 and 5 different name?

No separate 2.4.and 5 ghz. Not using smart connect.

Seller was good enough to suggest guest network solution. I tried that and worked first time like a charm for both RM mini as well as all wall plugs!

Trying everything out now to see how stable things go.

I'm running broadlink switches, wall plugs and RM remotes, along with 5 Google mini speakers everywhere... Still need to see how stable and reliable.
