Any RF remote control will do.

Thanks! But I also read that tc2 can also be voice controlled. Does that mean that there is no difference between the 2?

Tc2 can also be programmed to have different freq for on and off, correct?

I should have gone with tc2 to begin with.... Didn't know tc2 can have 2 different freq for on and off...

Yes, TC2 better, especially the new 2019 version. They have in-built capacitor and more stable. To know more about TC2, you can visit the official Broadlink Experience Centre at Woodlands or contact the distributor on Carousell.

Only the 20A eTouch is good. I’m getting two to future proof my place. I’ve read online nowadays our gas heaters breakdown easily, the wife may want to switch to instant heaters.

Got it thanks! I went ahead and got the tc2 2019 version from desiree..

Nice! If you have the time, head down to the experience centre. The staff there are really helpful, I had some questions with my home automation stuff, they were able to help me, even though my first RM Pro was bought not from them but on Lazada and it gave a ton of issues because it wasn’t set up properly.

Hope you enjoy your HA journey!

How do u guys combine the tc2 switches for alexa?
Eg. I created a scene "kitchen" and selected the appliance and turn on for 2 switches. When talking to alexa, it turns them on. But how to do the scene to turn off?

Right now I'm getting the error that there are multiple device with the name kitchen

For the benefit of others, livolo rmt04 remote didn't work with etouch.. It seems the livolo remote is meant for livolo switches only.

My apologies. I myself bought a generic RF remote control to pair with all my eTouch and Funry switches and faced no problems. I didn’t know there’s a proprietary RF433 remote on the market.

I created a user-defined remote for the KDK fan in the living room. Is there a way to duplicate or copy and paste the remote setting and use it on another KDK fan remote in the study room? I have separate RM mini for the rooms. Or do I have to recreate another user-remote for the other room?

I'm assuming your are using iHC. You can save your config as by backing up your IR code sets and share it to user library. You can add appliance in another room by referencing from the user defined library. But of course, you don't even need to reinvent the wheel... You probably can find the official KDK template or other user submitted KDK templates in the library.

Anybody experience using broadlink - - Alexa with xiao-mi sensors ?

Broadlink uses RF and IR. You need RM Mini 3 or Pro to connect to Wifi.
Xiaomi uses Zigbee for sensors. You need the gateway to connect to Wifi.

Since they are 2 different ecosystems, you need a middleman like Home Assistant or openHAB both of which can run on Raspberry Pi for the 2 to communicate. The Alexa device can then link to HA or OpenHAB as well to achieve the objective.

Thanks for your reply. Interesting. Will do some research and this. At least have an angle now on what to research on. Will share my findings.

So that being said . Broadlink RmPro -> Zigbee gateway -> SSID -> sensors -> R Pi -HA for the communication path?

Example:
Turn on aircon when I enter room:
Code:
Xiaomi motion sensor --(Zigbee)--> Xiaomi Gateway --(Wifi)--> HA on RPi --(Wifi)--> BroadLink RM Pro --(IR)--> Aircon

Hi , recently purchased 2 units of broadlink RM mini 3.(device)

One unit purchased earlier from local store is working fine in both local and remote access, Google home voice control is working fine.
Firmware automatically updated to v55

Another unit was purchased from lazada China store.
This new unit (FW Version :45027) is having remote access problem, this device will indicate offline whenever phone is on LTE, and phone Wi-Fi is off .
The voice control from Google home failed to execute the defined routines even when the device is connected with Wi-Fi.

e-control and IHC apps are working fine with the controlling phone is in Wi-Fi mode but failed once LTE is used (off Wi-Fi).
The unit is also not able to get firmware update, keep prompting poor internet connection.

I Wonder any kind soul can point me to where to download the latest firmware and do manual update with the e-control app.

Both devices are connected to same local network with proper internet connection ..

I had problems with the firmware update on my minis initially too... Same error. Just kept retrying on iHC on a few occasions and suddenly it worked for me.

As for your problem about not being able to control your app from LTE,my hunch is that it is not linked to the Broadlink Cloud to begin with. Might be related to the firmware issue you are having... My guess is that your mini is pointing to one of the cloud servers that is not functioning. You might want to Wechat Broadlink directly... but be warned that their CS sux... I ever tried and they were not very helpful.
