i just returned from japan. Ordered Econnect to be sent to my hotel. received it promptly from my hotel counter staff and after setting APN setting using the attached document, the data connection comes on straightaway. very satisified.

Yea...I would consider that over bmobile. I won't mind paying more for convenience and saving me headache.
Another winner point is it comes with mifi, I can skip changing the sim card and able to receive any SMS or calls back home.

like 4hr so some user pack portable USB batt pack to charge on the go
I find portable batt pack in jp got more range vs sg and better quality
price is quite good vs sg as sg sanyo 5000mah os damn exp
dor the same price in sg u can buy the new sanyo 5200mah or 5400mah I recall its the newer model with color indicated

Hi, i want to ask a question about eConnect microSIM.

for example, i put the microSIM into my iphone for about 7 days already in japan, then on the 8th day, i take it out to use my original singtel SIM (coz i need to contact somebody using SMS), then i put the eConnect SIM back into my phone on the 9th day, it will still work right?

just wanna be certain as it's my first time going to Japan.. XD

thankz!!!!!!!

Seems more expensive than Bmobile wor...

B-mobile:
The data transmission speed is 300kbps (best effort) for both upstream and downstream

eConnect:
Downlink: 7.2 Mbps / Uplink: 5.7 Mbps (best effort)
Downlink: 300 Kbps / Uplink: 300 Kbps (best effort)

Like to ask for those who rent wifi package b4.

1. Do they provide sim cards? Or we using our own sim card to connect to their wifi?

2. If sim cards are provided, how many cards they give?

3. Is it a 3G or 4G/LTE connection? or it doesn't really matter.

Cos I'm sharing with friends. Some HPs are 3G and some 4G/LTE.

If you are referring to the sample in the URL, then your phones 3G/4G thingy is not important. So long as your phones/tablet/notebook can tap on wifi will do. The rental wifi-to-go is just a portable hotspot device that provides data access to the devices you allowed to tap onto. Read the link, you will understand how it works.

Just ordered one wifi-to-go P-420 from them for 12 days, to be sent to our hotel in Osaka.

They claimed the battery life can go last whole day for most of the users but for continuous usage, should last 6 hours as they put in a larger battery. I won't count on it though. Going there to buy a rechargeable battery tank just in case. It comes with a USB charging cord (I think may come with a charger plug) so one can charge on the go. I hope 2 tanks should be able to support our phones and wifi device.

If you are interested to order/rent one, do it early as by looking at the deadline, one needs to order 2 weeks in advance.

@Jep: The WIFI-to-go is like a mini hotspot, the sim is inside the device as as long as your phone has wifi connection, you can use. And you can set password for it as well.

It can connect up to 5 devices. If you have that many devices, I suggest you do a rough calculation on how much data you are going to use, before deciding getting the unlimited or 1GB ones.

the mifi can use it while using a phone mobile battery charger to charge it right concurrently
?

as I did the math this mifi cost more than b-mobile and this mifi also limited in stock

cost wise, b-mobile is cheaper. But since it has to work with a phone, the added complexity of device compatibility kicks in. Wifi-to-go would be more universal in this case and keeping all your phones still connected to the cellular networks. Pro and cons.

But I am getting the b-mobile for my Note2.

I believe should be able to but I have not used it yet so I dont know.

the MIFI is good if you have more than 1 device. We have 2 phones and probably an iPAD. So it is more economical for us. For around 10SGD per day, we can get all 3 devices connected.

I remember last year both of us got the Singtel data roaming. It was 20SGD per day per device...
