ive controlled my scratching for about 1 month now and the affected skin area(previously flaky and rough) has turned smooth like the surrounding unaffected skin

But it appears white due to the scarring, so Is it to possible to remove scaring caused by eczema??

It'll go away roughly around 2-3months for me but I do go for occasional swim to tan myself, word of caution some people with eczema might not be suitable for sun exposure. Since I have responded well to phototherapy and doctor told me it's ok for me~

also note that the chloride in the swimming pool water dries the skin, so must remember to apply lots of moisturizer after swimming

This is a really good thread. I always thought I was alone. Lol

Anyway, really good information. I read from page 1 all the way to the current page! And I thought my eczema was bad, but there are worse. I am heartened to see people here pulling through the worst. Respect for you!

My eczema came about when I was in JC1, there was this funfair and I stayed in the sun for far too long and it was a blistering hot day. (Hottest I ever remember it to be serious.) And after that day, my skin never recovered. It's been 4 years and now it's more or less under control but of course there is the occasional flare-ups. The first year was the most terrible time of my life...

It is true that you are what you eat. I think my skin was the most unblemished when I was in BMT. Maybe it was the regime of exercises and water (tons of water) that helped clear my skin up.

Eating healthy, exercising and sleeping early helps too. There was once when my computer broke down and I couldn't get it fixed for a while. So in my free time (which was usually spent in front of the computer) I went to exercise instead. Like jogging and playing sports and drinking lots of water. For that 2 weeks I was feeling reaaaally good with my skin.

Anyway I'm going through a flare-up. My affected areas are mostly my legs, my front body, neck and most recently my face. (Woah that's almost everywhere.) I try not to use the elomet cream my doc prescribed cause of it's side effect but it was quite bad this time so no choice. But for my face I had the protopic cream. My forehead is this constant shade of red and it feels quite rough.

It's been that way for months now. Will it ever go away? After applying cream and I keep away from sweating, it will sort of fade and feel smooth again but the slightly pink patch will be there. Kinda annoying.

But for all the people with eczema out there, I know how it feels like to suffer from this, what with all the self-consciousness and lack of confidence, but take heart! There are others all going through the same thing. We will help you!

Guys, here to help! I've suffered from this ****ing disease for the longest damn time and I'll be able to answer most of your queries here since I think after so many years of hunting, my eczema finally under control and receding. My post will help especially those suffering from serious eczema, but the mild ones can make the necessary changes and you will realise the eczema should go away.

Okay first, if you're using steroids, please no more. You got to stop. It only suppresses the condition and 10 years down the road, you still will be haunted. If you're on injections, worse still, you have chemicals in your blood that will take longer to rid completely. These chemicals they inject are known to stay in bodies for many years depending on how long you've been on it.

Can I just ask if our eczema sufferers here suffer from poor bowel movement/constipation? It seems that it is likely the case here - because of heavy meat and dairy lifestyles that we are exposed to, compounded with stress and humidity, it causes a lot of stress on each and of our immune system. If your bowels are bad for long period of time and constipated, your eczema is likely to worsen (like me).

Having been to many TCM doctors, I'll just give a mention to those who are really specialised in this field. You hear people say this doctor good that doctor good, trust me I went to quite a few but seriously not all of them knows their stuff like the below 2 doctors. Dr Ong Swee Ling (runs Yong Kang clinic, Telok Blangah St32) and Dr Long (Sadako clinic, Bendemeer Rd, blk30). These two TCM doctors really knows how to tackle eczema and psoriasis in Singapore, cant say for the rest.

However, my breakthrough came in the form of bioresonance therapy. I'll leave the story short but check out Healing Resonance (Blk 7, Everton Rd) and look for Jovie. She has helped me deal with this eczema. Went for 2 sessions and had improvements like never before, not joking.

On top of that, I am also on Spirulina, probiotics and some other supplements that Jovie prescribed me. In addition, I made major dietary changes - be prepared to forgo dairy, wheat and certain meats for awhile until you ascertain what food types you are allergic to under the 'food intolerance test' at Healing Resonance.

In addition, I would like to recommend you guys 'The Blood Type Diet' by Dr. Adamo. Contrary to the popular belief that health is obtained by eating a bit of everything, you're quite wrong. Different people have different blood types and each of us process food lectins differently. Simply put, some of us with A type blood cannot break down meat proteins as well as the O blood type people. If we choose to lead a lifestyle governed with lots of meat and protein, you find yourself struggling with diseases, headache, bloatedness and other problems. However, if your are of O blood type, you realise a meat-prevalent diet does not affect you as much as compared to the A blood typers. This theory has its fair share of skeptics too (like when I first started out, but persuaded me when I started to see improvements)

I've typed quite a lot here but if you guys really need help to deal with eczema or have queries, you can sms me at 81003255. This problem is not to be overlooked if yours is still mild because it can be corrected early. If yours is severe like mine, you can drop me a message. I'm no doctor but I'm willing to share what worked for me, and hopefully I can extend a hand to those who need it! Cheers

Izzit true that eczema will worsen as u grow older. I had it when was a toddler. It was very much in control or I can say I dun feel and irritation.

After I reached mid 20s. It started to flare-up again. It started around neck and chest and recently my forehead too. It was much controlled with prescribe med. but now I stop the med and rely on dermesone cream which is milder as the doc didnt want to prescribe a stronger one.

And these days hot weather dun help much.

Wanna recommend Shea butter. It helped heal my eczema somewhat. See, I have 2 large patches at the neck and it was cracking and peeling. After applying it, the centre part has healed back to normal skin, expect the ring around the patch is still raised and inflammed in hot weather. It also healed my cracking lips.

In a word, 100% unrefined Shea butter pwns all moisturisers and Ive tried lots of them: QV, urea, Cetaphil, Vaselin etc etc...

Get at coastalscents.com. 1 lb at about 28 bucks shipped.

The one on the left is from coastalscents. Right is from Loccitane, which I suspect is refined and expensive. You want the unrefined ones of this color.

I feel it takes longer to clear, or not clear at all, as you grow older. But you can't truly cure eczema one. :(

Where did u get your loccitane shea butter?

I heard the whiter it is, the less refined it is. Yellow means too much processing

I've had it since 2005 and its been 7 years and counting. Its only going downhill and the skin on my entire body is dry, red and itchy. I've been using the steroid cream from NSC but it doesn't seem to help and I feel like I'm slowly killing myself by using those cream.

Only positive is that my face is still good throughout my entire 7 years and that had landed me a good job and a good gf. Other than that, I feel really lousy at my condition and want to get rid of it asap. Its been 7 years since I had to do a one-hour steroid cream and moisturize regime after my shower every single day and what would I not give to get rid of that routine. :(

And oh, to those who were wondering if there was actually anybody who got a E9L9 for army, I did. :(
