I think everyone has their own different scenarios of eczema and ways to counter them anyway here's mine and i hope it's useful to anyone out there who has the same kind of problems i had,
I used to have very bad outbreaks on my limbs and joints especially at the back of my knees, it's so bad till once it dries up the skin is so stiff with discharges that you have problem straightening your legs let alone walk properly(hurts like mad, almost like a deep cut to the back of your knees), it was only a few months back that i discovered that bodyshop has this body butter thing that is fantastic it moisturizes very well, after i applied it the kept my skin moistured hence not hurting that badly.
Another thing is watch what shampoo or body wash you use, sometime this is a big factor of causing outbreaks but thn again it varies from person to person.
Anyway if you were to go to the polyclinic for medication they'll probably prescribe you with dermasol, if it works for you great but it wasn't the least bit useful for me, it's like every time i start to get better it itches like mad again.
After being fed up with the repeated cycle for almost a year i got a referral to NUH, the doctor this time gave me a new prescription, so far it's been fantastic, no outbreaks again as my skin gets better, it's so far been my best skin condition in years, best of all there isn't much itching so far... you guys might check these medication to see if it works for you...
i got cephalexin(anti-bodies),
Prednisolone(supposingly this little fella is the one responsible for the healing, claims the doctor),fluocinolone acet(some cream) and the usual cetirizine(puts you to sleep so you wont scratch in the night).
Anyway sometimes if the itch is really bad you might wanna check if it's an fungal infection, cause during my bmt period i got fungal infection on my feet and i thought it was the usual eczema, hence condition got a lot a lot worst
Hope this helps
