Hi Guys,

The key to Ezcema is management.

1) Moisturize!
- I would recommend the best moisturizer i've found. (You can get it at any Guardian or Watsons). Sells for about 30$ - unlike parafin wax based moisturizers, this one does stay on your skin but not give you the sticky feeling.
Avene - Trixéra Emollient Cream

2) Dont Scratch
- Needless to say, this is the hardest for Ezcema sufferers. I guess we just have to try!

3) Avoid food that causes inflammation
- For me, seafood is a major allergen. So i usually avoid crustaceans.

4) Topical Creams
- Use steroid sparingly, the ones that really work well for me are Elomet 0.1%.

Hope you guys get well soon!

Bad idea to moisturize.

Just my personal thoughts based on recovery. Do check out the term moisturizer withdrawal. Idea is that your skin may be dependent on the moisturizer, and thus your skin itches when the relative humidity drops due to the absence of moisturizer (and thus u constantly need to use them to maintain close to 100% RH, which is not natural for the skin environment).

I withdrew from moisturizer and went through hell for 1 month. After that my skin adapted.

Those who are interested to know more, ping me.

yes it is.

i just saw him 1st time..

330 dollars. :s22::s22:

he will take photos of your skin condition to keep track monthly.

he said its not a matter how long you got ezcema or psorasis.

its a matter whether you have used steroid creams or not.

if used before, it will take double or triple the time to recover completely than those who have not used steroid creams before.

he said i min need 2 years

and ask me don't eat chicken cos chicken got steroids..

Hello, i'm new here. I actually got diagnosed with eczema by NSC after I got an allergic reaction from insect bites (sandfly?) during NS training in Brunei. Been under treatment for a few months already but the bites on my hand and feet have not improved. Other parts of the body have subsided.

I'm currently still on ciclosporin pills everyday with topical steriod cream. Previously was on oral steriods but it wasnt very effective so they gave me the immunosuppresant ciclosporin.

From the earlier posts, i understand the negative impacts of topical steriods now and will probably stop it ASAP. Just wondering, are creams like Diprocel and Mometasone also steriod creams?

Also, should I continue on ciclosporin. My parents are actually very against the idea due to the potential side effects it can bring. Also its supposedly a very strong drug too. But without it, I'm afraid the bites will resurface and get inflamed again.

Thanks!

Same as you. Stop oral steriod and takes immuno pills.

Every time visit need to do blood test.

What is yr dosage per day?

Mine is 50mg morning 25mg night..

With enough willpower i have managed to get rid of eczema on some parts of my bodies. But the one on me knees really outwits me

I can go for like max 24 hours ignoring the leg, sometime after that i somehow find myself scratching it to bits. The addiction i have to itching is really **

I am curious too. Can feedback in what he say or did during ur appointment with him? Thanks. $330 seem pretty steep. How long will the medicine last and how often did he advise u to see him? I am also under closporin 100mg in the morning and 50mg at night doing so far so good but I don't think it can last long term as the medicine side effect is quite strong
