I am aiming for monthly return if I am retire.$SGD2500 is a really affordable monthly living expense.
I am aiming for monthly return if I am retire.
Hope you achieve it!Hopefully I can reach my FIRE in 10-12 years time and join this thread.
Monthly passive income?I am aiming for monthly return if I am retire.
That's an awesome feeling! My net worth keeps growing every month because I spend way less than what I make in passive income. Money is completely off my mind!![]()
which indeed is a great optionFor a number of Singaporeans rental is the only option if they hope to arbitrage the cost of living between their home base and the target country
Once a mth, every 3 mths activities all have.Sounds like it is only on weekends then. Sat or and Sun. Once a month? Every 3 months?
That's not much. Why you say you got not much time for other things? What you do the other 28 days a month?
Your post reminds me of that great angmo who do free bicycle repairs in sg. He gains my absolute salute. Hope we can have more ppl like you guys to give back something to the society. This is one way of retirement.
I finally decided to build out a small machine shop. I’ve always enjoyed tinkering with my hands and that is what I will spend my extra time on.
Thanks for sharing and good to know.it's a backup plan in case COL in thailand gets out of control.
in central thailand, the options are udon thani, khon kaen or korat as these places are equipped with good class hospitals (khon kaen esp.. it's sort of the medical centre for that part of thailand)
these cities do not suffer as much the inflation we see in recent years hitting BKK and even CNX. These cities are not backwards.. i'd equate them to be like penang, JB level.
the drawback is having to transit in BKK or DMK each time you want to rush back to SG
another place to consider is huahin, a possibility.
I struck off these places for the following reasons:
CNX - smoke season (Feb to May), somewhat getting expensive thanks to digital nomads, koreans, prc and taiwanese.
BKK - unless living in outer suburbs, the crazy amount of traffic and people makes living there like no diff from singapore, and it's getting really expensive (think living long term and not as a 1-week tourist)
how old are you nao bro?i will be slightly earlier than ujust targetting another 7-8 years
BKK.........IMO.
1. SG may have good medical facilities but comes at a price, else where in BKK, they are famous for medical treatments too (not just plastic surgery) and cheaper as well.
2. hawker food is no longer affordable, price has been increasing as well. You know, BKK street food or non touristy place is half the price of a hawker food. The same plate of chicken rice is only $2.50 in BKK and SG is $4 (some place still selling $3.50 but lesser and lesser), some hawker food (newer gen stall owners) even sell their food at $7-8! Look at those recent hype hokkien noodles, no $6 no talk. Once those old time stall owners close shop, those new gen will not sell you this kind of price anymore due to high rental cost.
3. Actually, BKK, as compared to SG, has cheaper flights anyway also; SG is not really the base of asia, and it is getting expensive, with higher fuel cost and airport tax. TIP: If you fly to China/Japan/Korea from BKK, the tickets are dirt cheap.
Yes bro....Monthly passive income?
Bro, need to save for raining days..My net worth keeps growing every month because I spend way less than what I make in passive income. Money is completely off my mind!![]()
Aim higher bro.Yes bro....
And with some fd interest .shd be able to get by..
I dnt spend much nor like eat expensive meal, holidays, just a solitude, foc exercises will do...Aim higher bro.
Must put some buffer for when markets are down or bear.
Stress test. Down 25%. Down 50%.
BKK.........
1. Heavily congested, much worse than SGP
2. Communication issues
3. Weather even hotter and equally humid
4. Weed issues
5. Less safe..... recent school shootout, following US style
6. Strrets are heavily polluted
Etc
Anyway, if one needs to worry about $6 -$8 meals, then Singapore is not an ideal place to retire. Make no mistake about this. This type of food pricing is already lower than Australia, North America, Europe, Scandinavian countries
reaching 50 soon, my target is 55 retire, stop work totally, then do things i like (traveling, photography, droning). Then work till 60s in SG.how old are you nao bro?![]()
![]()
Lol your earlier posts compared with BKK !!i never say i retiring in BKK.
we are talking about COL, if u can have lower COL, why not? like i say, SGD burn faster in SG than in BKK, unless you are very well off, you probably have to work till 60s non stop.
the idea is to retire earlier, stop slogging till 60s and enjoy lower COL instead of someday have to pick cardboards on the street.
i already explain, its not difficult to learn Thai language, if you know hanyu pinying.
if you are not staying in BKK, congestion is not an issue.
all asian countries are hot and humid, northern thailand have very cool weather. Even northern vietnam have cool weathers.
anyway u scare this and that, you stay in SG sua, i will be chilling after 55 years old and see you still complaining why 60s still working.![]()
