This Eight $8 plan is really good.

1. 288 mins talktime is like 4hrs plus. But then again, mostly is using whatsapp call nowadays

2. 188gb 4G is wow! Currently on zym 5g plan and I am only using like 10gb Max per month.

3. 8gb Apac data means I can really travel without much concern to nearby countries.

4. 1gb global roaming means I can just get one local sim card when I arrive on site or I need not get extra sim when I transit at multiple countries.

This is one of the most wallet friendly comprehensive Sim card I have seen since Simba.

Port success at 4pm today from TPG to Eight.
Functions ok.
Added 4 months of renewal in advance, tomorrow night add another 4 months then the night after, do the same one last time.

That should cover me for 13 months total.

But the website display doesn't show main balance increase but shows each new extension date start per topup done.

Portal organized weirdly starts reading from left to right instead of top to bottom

m1 maxx is completing with eight but their plan is 9.90 and there is no free Idd calls like eight and pricing wise, eight still the cheapest

Having mixed experience with eight.

I at times get 5g (likely NSA) from eight. When it works, data connectivity is superb. However, lately, connectivity has been one or two bars. Even when it dropped to 4g, nothing loads. Maybe it is a starhub problem, but giga seems better overall. For the price for eight, it is better than simba still imo.

the above faq is not very clear

it doesnt mention after 60 days, can we still keep the eight number if we didnt top up? Also, receive SMS = receive bank OTP?

For M1 Maxx, at least we can keep the number if we use base data of 200 MB OR send 1 sms OR make phonecall of 1 min every 90 days

mine just crossed the 88 days trial
mobile data not available, can only receive sms, didnt try calling

i recall eight is 4G only, but working on 5G to be rolled out later. Perhaps you got connected when they were testing 5G?

Even at 4g, there are times browser, youtube or shopee cannot load

maybe set phone not to connect at 5G until it's rolled out? slower but more stable connection for now.

that's why they give $0.10 discount every 30 days for the first 360 days ($7.90) - assuming you port in

yup sent a text from overseas mobile number to her and my maid, they cannot receive too.
I sent a text to my simba line, i can receive.
sent a text to a fellow eight user in facebook but he cannot receive the text from my overseas mobile number too.

After reading your problem, I did a test and managed to received SMS sent from a friend from another country.

Looks like you might have to seek help from service centre.

Anyone know what is the difference between the main balance and recharge topup on shopee? If im on the free plan and want to use the 8 dollar plan in the future, which do I top up or do I top up after the free period ends? Thanks!

I signed up last Friday afternoon during road show and requested for physical SIM card. Port over was successfully done in the wee hours of Saturday morning and able to receive OTP and make/receive calls.

that's great to know. i saw a few fb comments that their port in was unsuccessful w/o notification and some take up to a week.

im going to manage my expectation and hope it gets done by fri at least.

I signed to port from giga esim to eight esim around 5+pm weekday last week. By 10.30pm same day it was done.
