I think their 60-day grace period applies to the $0 plan too. So you'll have another 2 months' delay.

https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-renew-recharge-and-billing

  • What happens if I do not renew my plan?
    • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
    • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.
Then like that what good is the wallet credit

Don't understand what you're referring to.

That's a $0 88-day free line. What wallet credit?
Maybe i misunderstood the usage of the wallet credit?

At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

AFAIK

1. If you don't recharge after 60 days, your wallet credit will be forfeited.

2. If you don't turn auto-recharge on, it'll not recharge for you even if there's $$ in the wallet. Not turning auto recharge on means you intend to recharge manually, via whatever means, including from the wallet.

In her case, that's a $0 plan where there's no charge. If she doesn't choose a new plan, the wallet credit in meaningless.

I also locked, but I also don’t know if I can receive overseas SMS… hopefully don’t need to access bank stuff when I go overseas
SG-origin sms can receive while roaming and in sg.

Overseas sms cannot receive even when i am in sg. This is the big headache if you need to receive overseas sms.

The boss asked me if he is keen to try his way of finding out if it is my phone problem or backend problem. I was like, I AM IN!

so he thought it was an esim problem, he terminated my esim, registered a physical card and plug it into his phone. Asked my relative send an sms to me from overseas. The sms did not come after 5mins after it was sent out. He concluded it is a backend problem.

Something was not done right during porting. I told him my maid is a new sign-up with physical sim leh, and she cannot receive, so this issue is. not exclusive to port-in.

he helped me escalate.

This guy is damn good. He said he feels shiok when he can solve users problems, to the point that he did not serve a guy whom asked about used phone . He jz eng-siu or patronised the fella. :s13: He could have made a sales but he was so focused to escalate to eight backend team.

The auto-recharge only applicable to cc.

The system deducts for plan renewal in the following order, whichever got money

Plan
Main balance
Credit card

in terms of customer service, eight is the best MVNO, bar none. Direct, knowledgable, helpful, service.

not the "only contactable via chat where we make you wait a few hours and then we drop the connection" nonsense. i won't go into the frustrating experience when you finally get to talk to someone.

Cause my husband and I both signed up 2 lines each . So total 4 number.

I don't know which 2 are mine now . I don't mind to do the email cancellation now so can port over once done with my heya line.

Any idea how to check which number are mine ? All 4 expired so I doubt can use to call out to check
If all 4 are expired, shouldn’t the lines also be terminated already? @Habrosus you know?

on verified request, he cancelled one of my lines in less than 15min. Compared to the 7 days for an unnamed MNO.
