Anyone has both simba 5g and this 8 ?

Which one local connection better ?

Simba $12 per month 5g 200gb local data plus 7gb roaming is very tempting.

8 local connection really cannot make it for me . if not also wont bother to keep switching . so troublesome
Signal wise am not so sure.. but support is almost 0…

We have issue with porting into eight. Worst still no one can help us.. eight shops are just CSO, and no technical folks will reach out..

Today… day 6 after porting, still no signal. Went down your service center 3 times.
In the last visit, we were nicely told off by the guy that eight have too much to handle and only pay $8 dollars so expect monkeys.

So far porting has resulted us to spend more than just $8,
1) 6 hours of troubleshooting
2) $12 eSIM of other telco purchase to tied this period
3) $10 of parking

Yes, we are using simba data plan now, and it’s very good. They just upgrade to 7gb international data, I am just cautious about their data security.

Question...

Eight $8 plan experience is it similar to the free $0 plan? I mean after the free $0 period end and change to $8 plan the experience on the network similar or will improve?

no change, the experience is dependant on the area having strong / weak network

Okay so Maxis is 5G NSA, UMOBILE is 4G.
But neither one I can make outgoing calls, hear the Malay announcement, then signal drops from 5G to 2G to zero before reverting to 5G.

Hahaha Starhub 4G never improved over the year. I last used Starhub 4G in 2021 and it's still as bad with disconnections at specific spots. Like... going up the escalator at Tiong Bahru MRT exit. Signal will drop for a few seconds before reconnecting.

Looking at the numbers generated, are those 852xxxxx & 853xxxxx new or very new numbers? I intend to keep it a permanent number so hoping to get one that is not recycled. I want to avoid the situation of getting a number that might have been used to register for many things already. What about 8477xxxx? I see a lot of these numbers too.

I have both.

8 works better for me. Simba local connection is quite terrible for the places I frequent. Only keeping Simba for the data roaming.
