No wonder got some say here is toxic.
Simple sharing also 😨
One last attempt

I don't understand why you being here longer than me and a member at that, is looking for DM latest status from a non-member. :s22:

Anyway, even subject related, mod has told us that we don't need to 🥄🥄 if we choose not to.

I still do, when I can spare the time. I think many do too.

Come to think of it, did the entry of Eight start a massive porting or it started with them giving the 88-day free SIM?

I'm wondering coz it's only here and their FB page that I realized the huge number of people with next to no knowledge. How to port, how to terminate, where to find their email address, etc . How to Google, how to use the Search function here...

Lotsa info on faq

https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-port-in

How does port-in work?

  1. Switch to eight and bring your old number (it’s called “port-in”).
  2. We will assign a temporary number for you while we undergo the port-in process with your existing operator.
  3. Pop in your eight SIM card or activate your SIM card at our eight retailers/ service centres and our retailers will complete the steps for you!
Once the port-in process is completed within 1- 3 days from activation, we will notify you via SMS and you can start using the existing number that you ported-in.

however they say this instead in the FAQ in the renew recharge section
  • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

Note there are 2 actions here > SUSPEND and TERMINATE.

The 60-day grace period is when your line is suspended.

Thereafter, termination.

While the VoWiFi symbol appears on the phone, but I am unable to make calls in that mode. I need to switch on the mobile data for me to make calls. That means, VoWiFi is not work for eight. What a disappointment.

Another old phone of mine only shows the VoLTE symbol against eight sim, even after enabling WiFi.
That could mean VoWifi not working correctly, normally you should see the VoWifi indicator, usually where you see the Telco's name. If you have firewall on the wifi network, might need to allow the VoWifi traffic through.

We should give a prize to everyone who reads the above document.
I read it before I signed up. Before porting into eight, I tried to find all the critical info summaries of the plans I’m interested in to read first.

that’s also why I don’t have a lot of patience for people who don’t read FAQ

prize pls?
