Anyone successfully port in to Eight telecom from Heya? I was told by the retail person, Heya is prepaid, cannot port in
try to do port in the service center or porting online.. heya is postpaid. Retail shops people anyhow give information at times

https://www.singtel.com/content/dam/heya/pdf/heya_TnCs.pdf
heya is a postpaid SIM only mobile plan provided by Singtel Mobile. Your activation and continued use
of heya constitutes acceptance of our terms and conditions as amended from time to time (“heya
Terms”).

The retail person is absolutely lying to you, either out of ignorance, or on purpose. You can't trust them I'm afraid, it isn't in their best interest for you to port out from Heya. If they're ignorant, then they're really lousy and didn't even bother to learn much (if anything at all) about the MVNO porting world, even though they work in that industry. An absolute disgrace.

Lots of people have successfully ported out from Heya to Eight, either directly or indirectly. Most (all?) MVNOs only have plans that are actually classified officially as "postpaid", even though in practice they may have the appearance of "prepaid".

Anyone facing this issue?

"Credit Card Billing Failure - We were unable to process your credit card payment for Eight. To continue, please update your billing information."

Card works fine, able to be used for everything else, but just not Eight with this error.
After putting in the credit card number for the first time, press RECHARGE, choose your PLAN and PAY. After that, from the following months the system will auto deduct from the credit card.

Also turn on AUTO RECHARGE.

Porting Issue with Mobile Number Transfer

As of October 2024, porting a mobile number from eight to StarHub has been rejected.

Use Case: I intended to transfer my mobile number to a friend who uses StarHub. However, signing up for a new plan with StarHub and changing ownership while porting the number has proven to be challenging.

From eight: Currently, eight does not offer a transfer of ownership functionality. They advised that friends and family must register a new line with eight.

From StarHub: Please note that the number must be under my name before I can port it to StarHub. The order will only be rejected if I attempt to port it under my friend’s name. I have two options: either transfer ownership from my current provider to my friend first, or port the number to StarHub under my name and then transfer ownership to my friend later. However, please be aware that transfer of ownership under the Star Plan is not yet available.

Challenge: It appears that eight operates under StarHub, making it impossible to directly port from eight to StarHub, much like how Gomo cannot port to Singtel.

if it is necessary to keep the number and transfer ownership and be on starhub, then, port out for a month/minimum stay, then port to starhub --- there are MNO/MVNO that allow change of owership, or even change of owership during port in. It might cost a bit ore, but you get to achieve your objectives

3rd party port in is allowed since years ago -> speak to store manager at main store
this should not be present from main telco even on mvno except rare cases

done it on mvno before also

    • VIVIFI (on Singtel's network)
    • Zero1 (on Singtel's network)
    • ZYM Mobile (on Singtel's network)
    • CUniq SG (on StarHub's network)
    • MyRepublic Mobile (on StarHub's network for 5G plans; on M1's network for 4G plans)
    • redONE (on StarHub's network)

Thanks @skazzz. My friend is a StarHub Platinum member, and the Store Manager refused to come out and meet us when visited to their StarHub @ NEX.

The following post is a starting point. you can verify if the MNOs/MVNOs have changed any polices since then.
There are other posts on the same subject, but i didn't search further. you can vary the search terms in the search function, to furter refine your results

Prepaid to postpaid:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/vivifi.6299241/post-152622327

Transfer ownership for free (when you port in upon sign up):
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...-sim-only-plans-part-2.6179673/post-146461197

Likely you will need to change from prepaid to postpaid first then can do transfer of ownership. Circles.Life is the only telco that can do both.
