I decided to port to Zero1 Starter liao after knowing that they are giving extra 50GB. As I use less than 20GB per month, it is the more suitable plan for me.

I still prefer the setting of the billing cycle to a specific date instead of it drifting around when the days of the months are 28/29/31 days.

Some info for anyone considering switching to EIGHT, I bought the $8 plan this morning to try it out first. Applied for esim ( new number ) , verify using Singpass, got QR code, paid using debit card and got everything running in less than 10 mins.

Speedtest results as similar to redone ( no surprise since both are starhub ), will update later on the performance during peak hours on trains.

Google Pixel 8
Model: GPJ41
Experience on my daily commute on TEL line ( 8:30~9:30 am ) & NS ( 6:45~7:45pm ). Train seats are full, some standing room but not packed like when there is a breakdown.

- no coverage issue other than the usual "blind spots" at certain stations
- zero issues with web surfing in general
- some videos auto detect @ 360p but playback was still fine when i manually switched to 720p

Overall I see very little difference between Eight & RedOne which was what I expected.

their service is downhill M1 mobile not suprising
I have never use M1 before so I duno. :o

But if M1 being acquired by Starhub, will our Eight speed be affected? Because starhub network needs to share speed to more people? Or no, doesn’t matter? :o

Do update in the zero1 thread the usage experience when you have switched over. It wasn't very good the last time I tried their service.

Depends whether how they manage the infrastructure. It's not like Starhub will dismantle m1's 4G network after acquisition. For 5G network, they were already in partnership together.

Haha mine ported over riaos!! :) How about yours ah?

Oh I’d prefer an app. But it is ok also lah if I log in through the website. It is just that the OTP part I don’t like lmao.
Yay... ported in successfully yesterday @ 11pm. 🙂
Worried after seeing some of the comments on their FB page. 😅
My experience has been quite ok so far. Signed up online, waited for the SIM to arrive. Activated online and ported in successfully within 2 days. Took about 1 week+. Mission accomplished. 🤣

6 Nov, 12+pm: Went to retailer uncle to do the necessary stuff. Quite fast.

7 Nov, around 11+pm: I noticed the 4G sign was gone, but sinktel logo still there.

8 Nov, 8+am: Woke up and noticed port over completed :) Got the $8 credits.

Got the Eight Telecom logo on my iPhone, but my mom’s phone ish showing Volte nia, no Eight logo? :o
Both lines ported in successfully around the same time?
If got VoLTE logo, can call and sms. Is your data working?
