already email them in the afternoon but no response, whatsapp is a bot, no number to call, eight support is also 8

auto recharge should be enable by default so dun think that is the problem and dun think sim card get faulty so easily

guess I have to make a trip to the service center tomorrow

Sounds like sim card issue since you have tried on different phones also no signal. If it's renewal problem you should still see signal bars and can receive sms at least 60 days after expiry.. another possibility is both your phones dropped support by eight, which is quite unlikely.

Assuming both phones are at minimum 4G, even VoLTE capable, but not supported by eight, they should still connect to the 4G network -- data and sms should still work. so yah, SIM card may be the issue.

think I have input my credit card number, does it not automatically recharge?

now I'm not able to receive the otp to login to eight website :(
Did you set Auto-Recharge to "on"? It isn't automatically set to "on", you may have to manually turn it on.

Possibly only less than 5% of the phones are supported.

Also depends on whether the telco chooses to support that phone model. On singtel, i had VoWiFI on my nothing phone2. after porting to eight, no more.

Dunno if the MNO does not support VoWiFi on MVNOs (maybe, to have some differentiation)

Just tried calling from Austin area. Both maxis n umobile can’t call out to +65 62353535.

Lousy Eight, potential customers better not port over!
Try using the manual registration method and your phone will display "No Service" registering to xxxx".

If you let the phone do the auto selection, you will not see any notification including this warning message, when you toggle the airplane mode.

I'm in Malaysia (JB) and roam on Maxis or UMobile. However, I cannot get VOLTE on both operators, and I can't make any voice calls. Has anyone encountered the same issues?

Check whether your phone has a message stating no service from these operators.

8 mobile is quite unreliable.

What happens if I do not renew my plan?

  • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
  • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

Wah, I tried the roaming for eight telecoms in Malaysia a bit iffy. In the roaming document, it says that roaming can connect to either Maxis or U-Mobile, Both Data roaming is good, but international calls won't work with Automatically Selected Maxis somehow, need to switch lines to U-Mobile, and then it can work. Also, I emailed support and they mentioned that VoLTE must be enabled. Hope this is helpful, will try it on subsequent trips.
