Perhaps try changing the settings to connect to 4G-only (rather than 5G) and enable VoLTE. Then restart the phone. No mate, I generally watch YouTube, surf Reddit & forums, text, and social media. However, in my home & work areas, the speeds are crawling for me and often takes awhile to load things or have full bars of signal but web pages will freeze, etc.
I’m using iPhone 14 Pro Max, tried resetting the network settings, re-insert the SIM, and restart my phone but seems the same. Is there anything else I can try, you reckon?
Solid find! This is probably it, I have yet to hit the 30 day mark Been suffering quite a bit with it, so couldn’t wait to get out. Haha. Thanks for the find, mate!
And yes, lesson learnt, always use new line to experiment.. Painful with high latency![]()
I checked under roaming partners in S. Korea. They listed SK Telecom, not supported? Only KT?Can only connect to KT 4G.
I know who! @kelvintiOur Harry Potter over at the ZYM thread reported before that it's possible to port over from eight less than 30 days.
Hi,@kelvinti Hey Kelvin! So sorry, did your port-in to Zym work perfectly? Mine said it was an ID mismatch and Eight rejected it but I am 100% confident that it’s the same ID used (NRIC). Did you need to email Eight to get the port-out working?
which telco ur porting to? The issue could lie in the telco you are porting to as well. For eg my case, tried porting over from Vivifi which took 1+ week and 5 attempts as they claim their system was down, kept showing nric id mismatch. Like others said, eight functions like a prepaid so u already paid in advance for your plan, you port out day 1 onwards they don't really give a damn also. Eight signal varifies from phone to phone I must say, my friends with the older gen iphones actually suffer from signal issues with eight whereas my Android foldable has perfect strength and connectivity.@kelvinti Hey Kelvin! When you say older generation iphone, which versions are we referring to here ?which telco ur porting to? The issue could lie in the telco you are porting to as well. Thanks! Appreciate the response, I’ll continue trying to find out the reason why!Hi,
I did port out from eight to ZYM after 2 weeks using eight, and it was a success without any issue.
I did the porting on Zym webby by selecting port in from eight in the afternoon, went to collect my zym over the ZYM HQ Ubi counter and It was the usual over-the-night porting over between the 2 telcos on the 2nd night.
Your case of ID mismatched... I guess you need to write to both sides to see what is the real reason.
The problem could be on the eight side or zym side.
Hello! I’m trying to port into SingTel! Been trying to obtain the reason from Eight since SingTel was the one telling me that it was an ID mismatch that Eight rejected the port-out.which telco ur porting to? Great choice. Port out fast fast!Eight really lousy leh. Now in the train… not underground. Cannot connect for few minutes . My wife beside me using Singtel no issue. Don’t expect cheap to be good. I will ask my family members to stick to Singtel.
Is your wife on Singtel direct or another Singtel mvno?Eight really lousy leh. Now in the train… not underground. Cannot connect for few minutes . My wife beside me using Singtel no issue. Don’t expect cheap to be good. I will ask my family members to stick to Singtel.
Just keep asking Singtel to retry, I've encountered the same issues trying to port out of Giga to a Singtel mvno not once but twice. No idea why but the telcos managed to resolve it on their own, probably just some admin cock up.Hello! I’m trying to port into SingTel! Thank you! I’ll get SingTel to retry again but I have yet to meet the 30 day mark for Eight, I’ll try regardless, no harm I suppose. Did you try setting your phone to connect to 4G-only instead of 5G as I mentioned in my reply to you above? Eight only provides 4G LTE, so the 5G setting won't make much sense and could make your connection worse as it tries to connect to the 5G towers.Thank you! Hey! Yeah, I did. Voice & Data set to 4G. Data mode: Standard. Maybe I am expecting too much? What’s the standard speeds for 4G? I am getting between 3 - max. 20mpbs on Speedtest, office area in the far East.Did you try setting your phone to connect to 4G-only instead of 5G as I mentioned in my reply to you above? Can submit a complaint to Consumers Association of Singapore ( CASE ) too!Tell me about it bro, their backend failed to deduct my working active recurring card for renewal. I changed a card but still failed and eventually deducted the amount, but after deduction they failed to find the payment and ask me to pay again manually. Until 48 hours later then they reinstated my line after "verifying the payment"..I've already lodged a complaint to imda see what they respond or if Simba will tio fine bo coz they refused to compensate for the downtime.
