What if he dropped his phone many times before, the solder balls under his esim module already half cracked. Will his signal start lagging or not? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Serious answers:
  • Reduce the streaming video quality. For example, if you’re trying to stream 720p or 1080p video, knock it down to 480p. (It’s a tiny screen. Unless you’re watching a hockey game and trying to spot the puck — or something like that — 480p is fine. And watching a hockey game or similar on a 6 inch screen is miserable regardless.)
  • Download the video(s) via Wi-Fi before you set off.
  • Set up your phone for automatic connection to Wireless@SGx and enable Wi-Fi Assist (or similar setting). When set up properly your phone will use Wi-Fi at station stops where there’s Wireless@SGx service (many stations have it), but it will backstop Wi-Fi connections with cellular data. This arrangement may help keep video streaming buffers fuller to reduce or eliminate interruptions.
Maybe can apply the Maliki rule and don't watch videos
That works, too. Downloaded podcasts, music tracks, and audiobooks work great, as examples. So do downloaded videos and e-books. I prefer audio-only options since other passengers don’t even have the option to watch what I watch. Not that I’d be watching anything particularly exciting, but why even offer secondary viewing?

I’m completely mystified why some public transit passengers watch video without headphones. They really want random strangers watching and listening too? I don’t want to know other passengers’ viewing habits and preferences. That’s their business, not mine.

I suppose another potential option is to find a new house or new job that doesn’t involve much commuting. If you don’t ride a train regularly to/from work then you won’t have the opportunity to watch videos on rides you don’t take. Not an option for everyone, but if your goal is to maximize video viewing then a bigger screen at home for longer is better than any mobile device.

It would be a hassle in 2025 to downgrade video quality to watch it on the go... we are a developed city ..
If the network is unusable, use a secondary line or change to another that gives better speed output.

That's what I will do anyway ..

Not sure what video app he is using, but Youtube should automatically adjust video quality according to network conditions. But I agree, trying another telco is the best solution. eight obviously doesn't work well during the time period he travels to work along his route.
