I did a calculation from my current situation, saving not that much cos need to buy new router

IMHO.
5G routers are a bit ex. 4G+ routers cheaper. The one I have not really good performance.
Up to the user to see if the speed is acceptable. Can be 5 times slower.

$24 is quite low cost for home boardband. If it's me, I think no point paid for a new sim card router just to do hotspot share

My fibre broadband is old plan which is about $60+. Also if use the sim card for roaming, can save there also.

While true that using sim card can save, please that if signal is 4g, it is quite slow. Unless your area can receive 4g+ or 5g, else be prepared to get slow Internet.

This speed is ok for my usage.

Feedback to Eight:

In Maldives, can sometimes see 4G+ signal but totally unusable (voice sms data) in airport all the way to the hotel. Already tried switching network but it doesn't connect to the other mobile network.

Any suggestion is most welcome

Eight doesn't support data and VOLTE roaming in Maldives.
