anyone can share their roaming experience in Japan with eight?

If upgrading from $8 plan to $18 plan in middle of billing month, do we pay the cost difference or full new plan fee?

For example, if I just paid $8 recharge last week, and this week wish to upgrade to $18 plan, would I pay the $10 difference or must pay full $18?

Hopefully u get to enjoy the roaming network ie good coverage

It has been pretty good for roaming in Japan, HK, Taiwan, China etc.

The partner networks are good and reliable like NTT Docomo in Japan and China Mobile for China.

It is an immediate switch so you pay $18 immediately (no pro rated) and your plan cycle will change immediately as well.

If you decide to switch back to $8 later, you will still enjoy the $18 plan until end of cycle before it downgrades.

It is quite smooth and reliable. I think they have 3 preferred networks in Japan but I personally connect to NTT Docomo

Yes, upgrade is immediate. Downgrade is until next cycle.
So if overseas yr $8 data runs out, just buy $11 or $18, and yr roaming data is back.

That's why must eyes open big big before opening wallet.

Someone else did a similar thing recently, $20 get $26.

There is only KDDI and Rakuten for Japan? no NTT docomo..... This is according to the Eight website.

I double checked eight website. They listed KDDI, Rakuten and NTT DoCoMo.

In any case, I’m sure you won’t have any issues roaming in Japan with eight.
