If fail then I plan to wait 48 hours to try again see
Tested with another Singtel number no problem

I think Eight comes handy for its VoLTE calls when roaming overseas. I’m travelling to China in November, gonna be porting over to Eight next week.

Aside, I’ll be getting China data eSIM from Shopee, costing $9 for 15GB.

I used to buy eSIMs off shopee etc, but starting from Dec 2024, just relied on roaming data for CN and other Asian countries that i travel to. So far so good.
Primary SIM is on eight.

auto to maxis. looks like simba also got the same latency. seems all telcos the same now.

Vivifi really make port in difficult.

When I ported in to vivifi, it will failz

when I want to port out to other telco from vivifi, it also fail.

Vivifi somehow will input the customer's name format different from the usual way, causing the porting to fail. Have to escalate with vivifi.

yes. This is not the first time I encountered this with vivifi.

i emailed eight about the failure of my port-in to portin@eight.com.sg since morning.

until now also no reply from them...

is it normal that eight has such low respond speed?

VN, especially HCMC, imho, has bad mobile coverage and performance.
same results over a variety of contemporary phones and telcos (not just MVNO).

had experienced similar performance on locally purchased Viettel, Vinaphone, mobifone (MVNO of Vietnamobile?) SIMs over past 12-18 months.

Yes always vivifi prob.
I had contacted vivifi and ask eight to resubmit the port in request again. Hopefully tonite 11pm the port in will start.

Upgrade is instant. Can do it overseas also no issues

are you roaming? i sometimes get no service suddenly when in MY.

It depends on the mobile device
My friend using a 3yo Oppo, face the same problem as you. Sometimes it will even show 3g.

I using a 3 months old Honor Lite, always got connected. Only not connected is when enter the restaurant with the glass door shut behind.

Lucky restaurant go free wifi, smooth like butter.

Eight 5G is SA?

What is shown in iPhone.

Oh so eight gives out 5G sim despite being 4G only for now.
The SA part might not be that surprising, starhub has been given their MVNO like Giga & MyRepublic 5G SA for a couple of years, so I won't be surprise if their 5G NSA is ready for shutdown or even already shutdown.
