But now the strange thing is I cant receive sms when in 5G (e.g. Healthy 365 OTP). Can only receive sms when I switch to 4G. Hopefully will resolve in the next few days, if not doesnt matter since it's a spare number for my Healthy 365.
How's your line now? Resolved?

I got the Eight physical SIM card in the mailbox today and just activated.

4G LTE-A connection, signal level is decent at -89 dBm, B7 band. Bandwidth shows 20 MHz + 5 MHz, Poco X7 Pro, Eight S$8 per month 4G plan.

First SpeedTest Result

Singtel S$15.28 per month 5G SIM Only plan with 4G LTE-A connection as a comparison (force the phone to use LTE instead not 5G), signal is great at -73 dBm, B3 band. Bandwidth shows 20 MHz + 20 MHz. Same phone, same location (HDB flat near to Jurong Point).

Never sign 5g?

No, 4G first, at least for two to three months.

And I will have StarHub Star Prepaid S plan (5G enabled) soon for testing (to be migrated from StarHub Prepaid, S$10 per month for 80 GB data, good enough for testing purposes).
https://www.starhub.com/personal/mobile/starhub-prepaid.html

So I may skip Eight 5G for testing. I am not saying Eight 5G is not good here but my use case is just testing out non-Singtel networks, not to replace my main SingTel SIM Only S$15.28 plan.

Current plan of testing:
1) Eight 4G (StarHub network), 4G only
2) StarHub (Star) Prepaid Plan S, 5G/4G
3) M1 Maxx, 5G/4G
4) SIMBA, 5G

I am using the Eight S$8 4G plan to post here on the bus.

Encountered a brief lag on the trip when I tried to post the above post, near to ST Engineering Boon Lay.

This never happened on my daily trip to work with Singtel SIM Only 5G.

But it did happen last time with Singtel SIM Only 4G (previously only free three months 5G Access, so I was using 4G before August 2024) -- sometimes even no signal on the same bus trip.

What 4G speed do we expect or can consider as acceptable from the Telco based on your experience?
