CUniq - this one has much more roaming data in dragonland than CMlink sia...

Yes, that is the reason I ported out from M1 Maxx S$10 plan to CUniq S$9.9 4G plan, and not CMLink 4G/5G plan.

If not, CMLink has six months 50% OFF offer for the S$10.1 plan and S$15 plan, until 18 Dec 2025, which is of much better value than CUniq 4G for local usage.

It is not a placebo effect.

Eight 4G is now often pretty slow. On the other hand, Eight 5G should be much faster.

I have compared Eight 4G (S$8) and StarHub Prepaid S 5G (S$10 usual price, S$3 for some users migrated from Happy Prepaid Card). The speed difference is very significant.
Back in June, there was no 5G.

$18 was the eight's highest tier (4G) plan.

Everything was snappy, everything loaded faster.

Maybe, it has a higher prioritization then.🤷‍♂️
Maybe I had a placebo pill. 🤷‍♂️

It is retty clear to me that Eight 4G plans (same for CUniq 4G, both use StarHub 4G network) now have a capacity constraints problem. Either they move the backend capacity more towards 5G users, or there are just too many Eight 4G users now.

i was from vivifi previously. there was some additional charges like activation of facetime, imessage for iphones, while now i am on eight, totally no extra charge at all, only pay $8 nett monthly.

hi all, if I change my eight plan from $8 to $14.80 5G plan mid cycle, do they charge prorated plan charge? or I'll be charged $6.80 extra regardless how many days to the nx cycle?

thank you all in advance.

listed in faq https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-renew-recharge-and-billing

  • How do I upgrade my plan?
    Upgrading is instant!
    • Log in to your eight account > Click on Recharge > Select your plan upgrade
    • Or visit any eight retailer
Once the upgrade is activated, your current plan will be immediately terminated and replaced with the new one.
Please note that plan upgrades are billed in full and we are unable to reverse transactions for terminated or stacked plans, nor can we reinstate previously held plans.
