StarHub sees 50.9% drop in second-half profit, shares fall 3.3%
StarHub on Feb 12 reported a 50.9 per cent fall in second-half earnings to $38.5 million from $78.4 million in the same period a year ago.
This brought net profit for the year to December to $86.4 million, down 46.2 per cent from $160.5 million in 2024.
StarHub said that excluding a one-off forfeiture payment of $14.1 million for the return of a telecommunication spectrum lot, net profit would have been $100.5 million.
StarHub’s second-half revenue declined 3.1 per cent to $1.2 billion, while full-year turnover dipped 0.6 per cent to $2.35 billion.
Shares of StarHub fell after its results’ announcement, with the counter down four cents or 3.3 per cent to $1.16 at 9.16am.
The telco declared a final dividend of three cents per share. Combined with an interim dividend of three cents per share, this brings the total dividend for the year to six cents.
The mobile business recorded $532.5 million in revenue, a 7.7 per cent drop, while its broadband and entertainment businesses also contracted 0.5 per cent and 7.1 per cent respectively.
TLDR: Mobile telcom drop 7.7% and they have to return one spectrum back. wl

Not really. They must admit their fault for losing battle to acquire M1. They planned everything well, think they will get M1 and make everything seamlessly, multi brands and 5 years roadmap mapped.maybe too much 1-for-1, that's why earning halved?

I do not usually take MRT during peak hours, but EWL Redhill to Outram (or EWL Redhill to City Hall) is not as bad as NSL Dhoby Ghaut to Orchard, based on my testing of different providers and also reports in this forum.
Recent bad test results from my main line SingTel S$15.28 per month plan, 5G NSA connection, 1:30pm Friday afternoon, not even the real peak time.
North South Line, SingTel SIM Only S$15.28 plan, Poco X7 Pro, 5G NSA connection.
You can see the speed is very bad. But I am still able to browse HWZ forum.

Yes. Just did port-in to Eight.
I realised by Singtel $15.28 plan shows NSA instead of SA on my S23 ultra.
Let me update when port-in successful and see if Eight is SA.
