Hmm... So not a issue with my phone. all along I thought it was SA.

It should be SA, just at some locations it will be NSA.

If you never see SA then it is your phone problem.

BTW, do not use 5G+ icon as the evidence for 5G SA. iPhone will never show 5G+ icon. Some Android phones will not show 5G+ icon. You need to use apps like nperf to check.

So if $40 plan shows SA, the $15.28 one shouldn't be showing NSA? Otherwise if different iPhones will be phone problem?

All locations for SingTel $15.28 plan shows NSA. Eight SIM on another Samsung phone shows SA for 5G plan.

I'll update when my Singtel $15.28 plan is ported into Eight.

No idea about your first sentence.

No matter it is the S$40 SingTel SIM Only 5G+ Enhanced Core plan or the S$15.28 plan, both are capable of 5G SA.

If you really never see 5G SA on the S$15.28 plan, then a few possiblities.
1) Your phone got problem
2) You are really unlucky that all the places you go have problems with the SingTel S$15.28 plan
3) You have not changed the SIM Card to 5G+ SIM Card. It is free from SingTel Shop kiosks.

BTW, iPhone can indeed have more signal receptions problem.

It's a very old line, before $15.28 IIRC twice used link from here back then was $20+? Before that was paying even higher $.

Used nperf.

If you have not changed SIM Card for a long time, then it could be that you still use the 4G SIM Card which does not support 5G SA. It is free to change to the 5G+ SIM Card from SingTel Shop Kiosk.

Mine from last year IIRC, the kiosk at Singtel JP. Yes, 5G-capable around or after they upgraded our plans to 5G FOC.

For context, I signed up for SingTel 5G main mobile plan with device, in 2023 and I remember seeing the option of "use 5G standalone networks". In 2025 I did a re-contract to SIM only $15.28 plan and no longer saw the option for 5G SA. The SIM shows 5G NSA.

Yesterday I signed up for Eight 5G. When SIM was inserted automatically I saw "use 5G standalone network" option appear. SIM card option shows 5G SA.

I'm now begining to wonder if the SingTel SIM only 5G $15.28 plan is a 5G NSA plan and not SA. Thus, it's clearly not a SIM card issue but actually how SingTel provisions the SIM Only plan. They are not wrong as it is still 5G just that they don't tell you NSA or SA.

No idea about your situation.

Here are screenshots to show you that the SingTel S$15.28 plan has 5G SA and it can fall back to 5G NSA in some locations.

Looks like only you and Habrosus have reported that you cannot get 5G SA.

Anyway, no problem for you to move out and hopefully eight 5G S$14.8 plan is good for you.

Personally I also start to test my backup StarHub Prepaid S 5G plan (80 GB only, usual price at S$10 per month, special promotion at S$3 per month for some users migrated from StarHub Happy Prepaid card).

It depends on the phone. iPhone will not. Some Android phones will display 5G+ and some will not.

FYI, my Poco X7 Pro will display 5G+ when using 5G SA. It will display 5G when using 5G NSA.

I am using Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 per month plan (12 month contract, recontract offer).

My plan SIM Only plan was in Feb 2025, not sure if early subscribers were provisioned with 5G NSA. I was all the while thinking it's my phone problem.

Anyway, I have no idea why you keep saying the same thing. The SingTel S$15.28 plan has 5G SA, period.

If you do not have, contact SingTel for help.

But since you are moving out, probably no point already.

I will stop here...

Thanks. Just stating my observations.

I'm Just puzzled why on my S23U "use 5G standalone network" option appears for my SingTel line with device between 2023 to Feb 2025 and now with Eight 5G. When I was on Singtel SIM only for 12 months (Feb 2025 onwards) I never saw "use 5G standalone network" option on my S23U.

Just purely my observations.

My case isn't worth mentioning coz it's an old line in an old iPhone 12PM which is now just my 4th in line spare phone.

I don't really care whether this line has SA or NSA, only did a test out of curiosity. So long that it's doing its job as support for my 4G Eight line, which it is so far. At least it's an improvement from those moons before I switched my main line to Simba coz I need the seamless network switching each time I travel.

$15.28 is good so long it works.
