Hi all, noob question. I usually recharge using auto-recharge through my credit card.

Just topped up $84 to my balance... Do I stop the auto recharge? Remove my CC details or what should I do for 8 to start using my main balance first?

TIA for your help!

Do NOT stop auto-recharge. Leave it on and they'll deduct from the wallet balance first. If there's not enough $ in there, then they'll move to the credit card.

If you stop Auto-Recharge, you'll have to do the monthly recharge yourself, otherwise your line will not stay active.

As replied by hasbrosus, do not stop auto recharge or remove your CC

Eight will always check main balance first before charging the card.

  • How will I be billed for my mobile plan?

We will always deduct your plan charge from your eight wallet balance first. If there is insufficient balance in your wallet, the full amount will be charged to the credit / debit card linked to your service account. We do not support partial deductions at this time (but we’re working on it!)
Login to your account to set up auto-recurring payments and link your credit card to your account to prevent any service interruptions!

nong ago was with singtel, then circles. circles has become so bad . data was ok but problem is i couldn't even make a phone call (silence when call connects, can't even hear the other person), so glad to be out. the expectation bar is set so low for me that since i can make phone calls now, i will just stick around with eight until they disappoint me :ROFLMAO:

M1 4G network can have pretty bad signal at quite some locations. So CL 4G plans (as well as M1 Maxx 4G plans) can be pretty bad.

As for CL 5G plans (as well M1 Maxx 5G plans), they should be pretty okay, much better than eight 4G, based on my own testing. Sometimes you need to toggle airplane mode though so that they will go back to 5G.

My own experiences based on the testing. I have not used eight 5G.
1) SingTel SIM Only 5G (S$15.28 plan)
2) M1 Maxx 5G, CL 5G, Starhub Prepaid S 5G
3) SingTel hi! 4G
4) eight 4G and CUniq 4G
5) SIMBA 5G/4G

Thanks, if I upgrade the plan, is it immediate or I need to wait for a few days?
Upgrade is immediate.

Downgrade have to wait for the existing cycle to end first

https://www.eight.com.sg/help/mobile/ -> "Upgrading your plan"

Upgrading is instant!
  • Log in to your eight account > Click on Recharge > Select your plan upgrade
  • Or visit any eight retailer
Once the upgrade is activated, your current plan will be immediately terminated and replaced with the new one.
Please note that plan upgrades are billed in full and we are unable to reverse transactions for terminated or stacked plans, nor can we reinstate previously held plans.

-------------------------------

Downgrades take effect at the next renewal cycle.
  • Log in to your eight account > Biling > Your next plan on auto renew: change to a lower tiered plan
  • Or visit any eight retailer
Your current plan will continue until the end of its 30-day cycle, after which the downgraded plan will begin. All plans are non-reversible and non-refundable.

Looks like he is using a mobile phone. The screen will show only the S$14.8 per month 5G plan.

Need to swipe to the right to see the other three plans: S$18 5G plan, S$11.8 4G plan and S$8 4G plan.
Hence life changing stuff should be done on a bigger screen! :)

Purposely hiding lower cost plans ain't cool

Guess they can't pay their partner kwpandpartners enough money to fill up this empty slot on main page
