Anyone got the free sim in May.? Do eight sms or contact u to sign? Can I email them to cancel one of the free line?

I've terminated 1 and port out another, so that I could port in my own preferred numbers.

To request for line termination :

31 jul 0030h: hooted with port in request.
6 aug: received SIM in mail
7 aug 1150h: activated SIM with temp number. However the eight SIM card still no signal

Porting in from Giga to 8 telecom, intend to switch from physical sim to eSIM.

1. is it Giga to 8 port over will be fast like 1-2 day? Considering both owned by StarHub?

2. Physical SIM card switch to eSIM will be send by 8 within 1 day through email QR code for activation?

3. is there any risk using eSIM as I’ve iphone 15 pro max? Will i be able to retain data for whatapp etc?

I went down to service center to do the port-in from GIGA.
My GIGA line was disconnected at around 11pm the same day.
When I put in the sim card, can receive call and sms as well as data.

1. Signed up close to 8pm at physical store for my wife, porting from Giga to eight. Signal lost at 10pm, about 2hours after sign up.
2. I went down to the service centre yday, changing from physical to QR code. Instant QR code generation. Must take picture yourself from his laptop for the QR code. His laptop dun have whatsapp web.
3. I am using iPhone 15PM too, on eight's esim. Whatsapp data is retained. Even if you change to a new number, whatsapp data is retained. Just need to do number updated in whatsapp setting. Dun have to do registration again.

Why don't you just port in directly for eSIM?

Geez thanks!

Can don’t go to physical shop and instead do port-over on 8 website for esim and receive their eSIM QR code email for instant activation???

That is what I did for my line.
GOMO physical SIM to Eight e-SIM.
Signed up online.

Below is my experience:

04 Aug 1330ish - Terminated my free line with eight at Ubi Service Centre.
04 Aug 1350ish - Free line terminated.
04 Aug 1433hrs - Signed up for port-in from GOMO, e-sim received at the same time
05 Aug 2350hrs - GOMO lost signal
06 Aug 0650hrs - Woke up and found number completely ported in.

Around 12mn++, even though GOMO signal is lost, I still could request OTP and access their app.

No email/sms from Eight on the successful port-in.
No termination email from GOMO too.

Tried this morning on the way to work (7:20 to 7:40ish), EWL tunnel is very much useable as compared to GOMO but there were some bufferings that took less than a sec each time to catch up.
