Yes, if you are not in hurry, but take note that you will need to activate your SIM when you receive the SIM card, only than the porting instructions will be fired up. Noticed there are lots of people here with porting issues after receiving SIM card, as this activating after receiving has some issues with some telcos.

Best is to sign up at the shop / service centre or get esim. Once you signed up, the activation of the SIM is immediate.

Just like last time when there is only Singtel Starhub and M1, we go down their shop to get SIM card. Best to go collect yourself since there is so many SIM pick up island wide. Or get eSIM

SIM card might get lost in transit too.
Sim card collection only at lucky or ubi right? For port in

Was told by a Eight retailer in Bt Batok that only max of 2 lines can be ported to 1 Name/NRIC in Eight.

Is that true? Cant find this info in Eight's FAQ as I need to port 3 lines (under 1 Name/NRIC) from ZYM to Eight.
Yes only 2 max per ic.

Do take note they don't really reply emails, can be selective. You head down to retailers also no use if you need help.

For me, main lines using e-sim. Leaving the physical sim tray for overseas sim card (i.e. tourists sim card, etc)

At least when i am overseas, i dun need to take out my main lines sim cards and still be able to receive sms OTPs sent to my main lines.

Line has to be in active stage in order to port out. Free 88-day expired means your line is already in the 60-day grace period, inactive stage.

Do you need to move the sim card between phones ? If yes physical better.
If you are going to be away from Singapore for extended period, physical sim in case you need to swap phone.

Do you need to handle multiple sim card on one phone ? E-sim will help here.
Do you need remote activation or replacement ? E-sim then.

Basically physical provides 2 things : convenience of easily moving sim card between phones and avoids the risk of a esim stuck in a dead phone.
Esim provides 2 things : easy management of multiple esim on a single phone, and easy provisioning/replacement (but that can come at a nasty price depending on the telco)

How much you value each of these points will determine which make more sense to you.
Personally I value the swap-ability of physical sim for my main sims, and would use esim for short term sims. In this way you don't need to touch the sim tray unless you need to work on the main sims.
Others prefers to have main sims to be esim, and use physical sims for short term use.
Obviously that depends on what is available at the places that you visit.
Having dual physical sim phone + esim would provide more options too.

Got what diff if your concern is abt roaming? Psim and esim would have the same function ma
No, i mean if i keep my main line as physical sim, i can keep it in the phone without having to swop it out each time i go overseas. My iphone i think only have 1 physical sim slot.Since I am using eight mobile only the apac roaming and idd, if i use esim, then no need to swop out the physical sim.

how u topped up?
eight website?
shopee?
if via shopee, u got the sms notification?
confused.
no no, i did not top up
what i meant, for recharge notification, eight will sms to users
unlike simba, will send email to notify you that you need to recharge for expiry date

For the $0 88 days line sign up, can I request for pSIM to be sent to me? Or I have to head down to their offices to collect?
you have an option to select, either by mail or self collect
remember to input NDP code else you will not get free 88 days

If I understand your situation right, I'd think eSIM is better for you.

I decide to use pSIM for my main line (eight now, but irrelevant). eSIM is reserved for secondary and travel, since it is easier to add/change.

pSIM for main line so it will not affect changing of phone, can just install pSIM into new phone. If eSIM, will need to request for a new eSIM, which may be problematic. For example, you'd need to head down to the service center to request for a new eSIM for the new phone (according to Eight's FAQ).
