so it means IMDA is not doing their job to scrutinize the telcos

with the influx of MNOs and MVNOs, the onus is for them to at least ensure the port-in / port-out done properly. If not, IMDA should penalise and or force them to wake up their idea.

Not sure why IMDA not as assertive as EMA. When utilities retailers one by one close down, at least EMA step in to ensure no customer is affected.
Before i get flag by someone that mobile services are not equivalent to utilities.

Most common reasons for port in failure (real stories):

* Mismatched ID due to number being registered under someone else's name, most often immediate family
* Mismatched ID due to passport being used for donor Telco, NRIC being used for Eight
* Donor Telco is a prepaid numer
* Donor Telco's plan is too close to renewal
* Donor Telco's plan is still under contract
* Donor Telco's number is considered inactive
* Customer ownself terminate number from Donor Telco before porting could complete

Avoid these common mistakes and there is no reason the porting should fail. Even if in the rare scenario it does fail, it isn't the customer's fault and that's for the donor Telco or Eight to fix.
Haha... iykyk

In case you don’t know how to make plus sign appear, go to native phone app, go to keypad, look for the plus sign.

For iPhone, it is at number 0. Thus, press and hold the number 0 until the plus sign appears.

next to plus is the country code. Look for the country you wanna call. If the phone number is 081 4567 7890 and the destination country is:
- indo, u key-in +628145677890.
- Cambodia, it is +8558145676789.
- Japan, it is +818145677890
- Thailand, it is +668145677890
- Malaysia, it is +608145677890

Remember omit the zero at the beginning of the hp number when you are dialling internationally. Any country. Anywhere.

one would think that these users are first time using a phone...... maybe these lines are purchased by parents and given to their children.

so far I've been with eight for 2 weeks. Happy user.

with the price plan I paid I get to enjoy 288 idd mins, 8gb data roaming. meet my needs. before I port, I was with starhub mno paying $20mth (waive cid). so its a significant saving. local data I always under utilised. give me more also no use 🤣🤣

my porting also fast! ported 2 lines. I don't care so much about speed as long can access Internet can liao :spin:

fb many cry babies there. waiting to spoon feed

very true. mentality like those who keep stabbing at lift button to make it come faster.

or press both up and down buttons when they want to go down. i asked before, they tell me, "down button because i want to go down, up button so that the lift will come up" <facepalm>
