Anyone have issue receiving sms from foreign number when roaming in foreign country? Seem like Im able to receive singapore SMS but not able to receive overseas sms when im overseas

i think it will take awhile.. I think starhub take a strategic decision to separate giga and eight. Giga focus on 5G, eight focus on cheap 4G.

just topped up $8 (using shopee, after coins is about $6)- waiting for my free credit tho my plan is still free for 88 days lol.

Ported out of M1 4G eons ago as it was really thrash (before 5G era), can probably give their 5G another chance if got good promo in future

Still enjoying $0 plan until 88 days over, I think it's 2 separate promo- one is you port in to their $8 plan you get $8 free in wallet, the other one is no matter what plan you on, you top up $8 you get another $8. $0 already over since 1st September Liao.

Yes, credit to main balance, plan remain unchanged. If you are currently under $0 plan, you will also get.

Yes. Remember to top-up main balance, or if on Shopee or Laz buy the listing which says "main balance", and not the plan. If you buy a plan which is an upgrade to your current plan, it will take effect immediately. If you buy a plan which is a downgrade, it will take effect only when your current cycle ends.

Not only when i am overseas, in sg also i cannot receive international sms. Only can receive sg sms.

Eight is still trying to troubleshoot for weeks now. Since August 19th.

Did you try putting your SIM card in a brand new factory reset phone with no apps installed and test it again?

anyway, Ubi boss and i tried all sorts of way to find out the problem.

Checked the settings for blocking incoming international sms.

Terminated my eSim, changed to physical sim, plugged the sim card into his phone. Thinking it was the eSim problem but, that is not the problem.

sent sms from two indo numbers to four different Eight numbers. All cannot receive sms from two different telcos from Indo.

We left no stones unturned and finally he escalated to the back end. He was that passionate and curious to find out simidaiji also.

shared all the details and phone numbers involved in this witch-hunting to eight team. Maybe they need more time coz this is new to them.

Maybe u should suggest another solution, is to jump back to GOMO and forfeit my 15mths of subscriptions and be miserable in EWL tunnels and crowded areas. Outside Singapore cannot receive or make calls

But how pragmatic is it? To receive an international sms, we all must reset phone?

Well, we tested on my phone, and also plug my physical sim card to Ubi boss’ hp. Both cannot receive the international sms.

The four Eight users, they all could not receive too when I sent them from my Indo numbers from two different telcos.

Given the presented sample of failures to all four Eight numbers, it is obviously pointing to a backend problem.

i have an esim from Simba installed on my phone and that Simba number can receive international sms, on my phone. For the time being, my overseas bank had to switch to Simba number.

But my solution is a good one and not hard to test.
