I’m on SingTel 4g and notice near mrt interchanges, the data is almost like 28k modem. So you mean StarHub also slow?

That is only during peak hours, ST may be slightly faster better than SH but nothing ground breaking.
Some areas, SH have better coverage and connectivity than ST.

For reference, I had tested in mainly central, western and NE regions with both MVNO lines.

hmm, dont understand, why need VOLTE to call? Cannot use 3G to call?

Starhub havent close down 3G, only M1 close down 3G

Also don't understand.
Vietnam is sun setting 3G in 2028, so they should have 3G.
Starhub/Eight also still have 3G right ?
What's stopping them from working ?
Even if starhub/eight remove 3G, don't tell me IDD calls from countries on 3G will not work then ?
Or has to be VoLTE cause it is routed to eight in data first and then bridged to a voice circuit at eight ?

Usually when does the porting of old number to 8 takes place? I have collected and activate the line on Wednesday, so far no sms or notification of porting. My Maxx plan going to bill me on 10 Sept.
i sign up on comex 4pm . on the same day about 11pm the line was successfully ported over

Thank you. Will give StarHub a try.

Think my porting was completed.
I am able to login to my account using my old numbers. I didn’t received any sms or email to inform me on the porting work at all. Weird.

Personal experience porting from zym after a few weeks.
Eight lower cost comes at the expense of 4G quality. I've experienced significant issues with 4G coverage, particularly in underground MRT stations like Orchard, Raffles Place, and Tanjong Pagar. Additionally, indoor 4G coverage is often unreliable, leading to frequent buffering and loading issues when streaming videos or using social media apps like Instagram and Facebook.

Hi all, I recently signed for NDP free plan for 88 days. I am using iPhone 13 Pro Max. In my settings under Voice & Data, I select 5G Auto and turn on 5G Standalone. When I try calling out, my data 4G is gone and my phone doesn’t have internet. Is there something wrong with the settings? I thought got VoLTE?

Why weird? Eight doesn't send any porting updates via SMS or email at all. That has always been their practice, it hasn't changed since day one.

They expect you to login to their Eight website via your temporary number to check on the porting status.

Same, when can port out again? Immediately or after 30 days?

very true, i moved the other way, from eight to Zym due to the issues you mentioned above. Upload speeds, latency and network coverage is an issue, but for the price you paid is what you get. But eight has good roaming packages with 8GB data roaming apac

Actually have, they send out porting sms confirmation randomly. I received, some of my friends received, some didn't. It's like lucky draw randomly picked lol.

Good sharing, you came from zym 4G or 5G plan? I frequent these areas as well but so far haven't faced any significant issues yet (compared to Vivifi, it was super bad) . Will monitor over a longer period of time.

If I want find out myself I ask here for what? I want to know how’s the connection under met because SingTel always very slow in underground.
U gotta try first lah.
- Your daily routines and usual apps might differ.
- You might use different MRT lines thus different tunnel.

Sign up a line, only $8 mah.
No contract somemore. eight even have an e-sim option so u can keep your current number active. stress test the network.
If not happy, you get your answer.
If happy, sign up again to port-in.
Nowadays it is easy to jump unlike in the past where you have to commit for a year or two.

For me, Eight suits me better. Below is my findings, but not extensive.

GOMO
EWL Tunnel - I watched reels and youtube when I commute to work. Inside tunnels, no connection most of the time, i could not load reels at all. Jittery at best. Traveling time 7:20am towards Pasir Ris and 7ish-pm towards Joo Koon.

Crowded places - could not load anything. Many incidences but two notable ones where I was stranded.
Orchard Midpoint Mall, my wife (at the time was on GIGA) was able to scroll her sns apps, watching reels and all that but my GOMO no internet at all, signal 3 bars.
Marina Barrage - NDP Rehearsal day where heaps of people are having picnics. My GOMO line could not connect to internet at all. I posted here also, speedtest cannot even do the ping. My wife was on eight and she was happily watching reels.

Eight
No problem. I can watch reels daily. There are times it will sluggish but recovers within a second, unlike GOMO where the icon would keep spinning aka buffering.
But on expressway, on BKE when it was around Mandai area (exit and entrance), I experienced no internet at all. Same as GOMO. Urban legend had it that it was due to close proximity of sensitive military installations. Others are noticing this phenomenon too.

The perks of eight is also better.
- I can answer and make calls while i am roaming (on selected destinations).
- $8

maybe pressured by other telcos :s22:
maybe the shopee retailers have a ceasefire agreement to stop the price war.
maybe margin affected.
maybe shopee increased the commission taking from seller.
