Quick question.

For those who purchased a paid Eight plan online, when you log into "My Account", is your Home Address, Contact Number, Email Address all filled in?

Also, is there any proper PDF receipt or bill that was sent to you via email?

Vast majority have ported out without any issues.

Either the donor Telco screwed up, or the retailer from eight screwed up, or you screwed u

Thanks for input, I suay ba
My case is from vivify to eight. The issue is with eight. They re-trigger the port-in request at today 1.15am and succeeded.
Of course I also email vivify to verify my ID but they haven't reply and the re-triggered already success. Hahaha

oh, so after all those trolling FB comments saying eight is scam / lousy, it was eight who were incompetent in doing the port-in

then eight deserve to be scolded

I would say eight need to put a buffer time to trigger port-in request to remote operator especially do port-in in retailer shop.
The shop will activate and trigger port-in request on the spot. This is fatal as eight system haven't updated with our NRIC. Thus ID mismatch comes in.
They can implement a wait, for example, port-in at shop will wait for few hours before they fire the port-in request. This make sure their system is updated with new subscriber id info. Then this should be good.

then it's weird, cos I previously initiated m1 Maxx port in from heya in a mobile retail shop on a Sat afternoon, within mins I received sms from m1 Maxx stating my m1 Maxx will port-in after Sun midnight / morning.

So there should not be any issue with eight port-in process, either they screw up or they dont know what they are doing

No. The retailer screwed up by not filling in your personal details correctly. Eight had to manually fix the problem by entering the correct details from your ID. The Ubi service centre is much more competent.

You can blame eight for choosing lousy retailers.

Yes, this time around the eight retailer deserved to be scolded. Specifically, it wasn't eight who screwed up, but their retailer screwed up by entering the personal details incorrectly; probably mis-spelled the name. Yes, you can scold eight for choosing a lousy retailer.

But how about all the other times?

Most of them just disappear quietly after complaining when it's the customer who screwed up. They never say "oh sorry my bad, donor Telco I used passport and with eight I used NRIC, therefore ID mismatch". They just think "scam". Or the problem is fixed and they never admit it's their fault.

Remember that the vast majority of times it's the customer being an idiot.

I also got it again. Wonder if I should try to top up again to see if they give another $8.
I got the free $8 last week after the first top up already.

Someone in the other thread got conned by this.

They went to ACTIVATE the $8 Double Eight plan and it overwrote their free plan immediately.

Don't make the same mistake, people!
