Even if I try out only, I will have to buy router with the usb tethering capability leh. Even with Singtel router, my bedroom is already a dead zone

to put it diplomatically, singtel routers are not quite up there......
if dead zone, consider an AP, can use repurposed singtel router.

you can buy 4G routers, my setup is cus i use what i already have.

Good thing about 4G is you can place the wifi anywhere. No need fixed location, so you just put where you need the wifi. simple

and best of all, move house, just bring it with you. no need to worry about relocation costs and issues.

but using mobile to do tethering, battery drain up very fast

My robot vacuum must use 2.4ghz network. So if I put in 4G SIM card to 4G router, will I be able to still connect my robot vacuum to the network?

i don’t know how to translate mobile network to ghz band… I tried searching but cannot find the answer

Connect 4g “router” to your existing router.
the 4g router act as modem.
Otherwise, configure the 4g router 2.4ghz or 5ghz ssid bands.

my father wants to buy the TP-Link X50-4G+. I can’t find any info online if eight SIM card will work with it

one consideration is to use "unlimited" data plans eg zero1 starter. if it's just streaming video, the throttled speed may be ok. that way, no need to mesasure data consumption.

(the TPG trial had 2GB a day, then unlimited at throttled speed. it was ok for streaming videos/movies)

Don't be deceived by unlimited throttled speed, it is limited but not indicated in the terms and conditions. MyRepublic 356kbps throttled speed data will be stopped once it excceeds 5GB, Zero1 1mbps will slow to 512kpbs then to 128kpbs then stop altogether after exceeding certain GB of data. SIMBA(Senior Plan) and Vivifi I had not tried though. Given data plan is so affordable nowadays, so-called unlimited throttled speed plan is irrelevant and merely just gimmicks.
