It's always slower than simba. Upload speed damn cui. Nevertheless, price paid is what I get.
My experience totally opposite actually, eight is much more stable than SIMBA. MRT underground my SIMBA totally CMI.

Eight is very usable. Speed is ok. But when I switch to Vivifi, feel it is slightly faster.

Was at a bank at basement, eight was slow. Trying to login to bank website have to wait for the logos and pictures to slowly appear. But Vivifi no issue. The page load quickly.

So far this is the only blind spot I have for eight. But as I said, if don't compare, eight is still ok. Not slow. But Vivifi faster

Hi, I saw eight's ad today at AMK hub and got a shock with their plan of $8 for 228gb/month. I'm currently paying $26 for M1 150gb sim only plan.. is it a no brainer switching to eight? I mostly use mobile data and the occasional local calls now and then.

m1 is MNO, eight is MVNO, hence the difference in price

eight is using starhub 4G infra (for now no 5G).

to me it's a no brainer. i ported from st postpaid. if you are not sure how well the coverage and performance is (compared to m1 which you ar used to), just sign up a new number for a month or two to test drive.
if good, then can port in.
if no good, max loss is $16.

Thanks for your info, very helpful.
I just realized does the plan include caller ID? I notice the addons do not have this option.

Edit: Sorry pls ignore. I saw their Getting Started page has this info, so there is free caller id.

Digging back my old post for an update: -

Previously I collected the free 88 days SIM card on 19 May 2024.

Today is 18 Oct 2024 and the number of days is 152 days after 19 May 2024.

So counting back - 88 days free and 60 days grace period and 4 days (after 60 days grace period).

I still can receive eight OTP when I login the eight account.

So my free line still not yet terminated. Will monitor until the day I cant receive eight OTP.

Finally eight set a termination date for my free 88 days SIM card

eight-termination.jpg

So, termination date is 30 Nov 2024 and the number of days is 195 days after 19 May 2024.

So counting back - 88 days free and 60 days grace period and 47 days (after 60 days grace period).

Hi all, anyone have issue calling fixed lines? Both my Eight numbers cannot call some (not all) fixed lines since last week.
Hi Simon, I have managed to resolve the call issue. Realised it is attributed to the 3g network cessation of starhub from 01-Nov onwards. Had to turn on call over volte to make and receive call. If you are using xiaomi phone, follow step 1 n 2 as per this link https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/activation-of-volte-and-vowifi-in-xiaomi-eu-rom.63469/. You will be then only be able to see the option to enable call over volte under the network option in the phone setting.

yes i have the same experience too.

at a gym located in basement, i was unable to access mobile data 95% of the time with Eight. though not an issue for me cos the gym provides wifi.

when i was using Vivifi & ZYM (both singtel MVNO) in the same gym, i have 2 to 3 bar signal and there's no issue.

but other than that, no issue with Eight.
when it comes to signal strength, i guess singtel MVNO is still more superior. you will only notice it when you are at places with weak signals.

agree on SH signal is weaker but better coverage compared to ST
