If port-in online, how soon can go to SIM pick up?
After submitted the port-in online, will need to wait for email for SIM pick up?

I got the email almost instantly. Then can proceed to the shop to pick up the SIM already.

Waited 5 days for the SIM to arrive.
Activation is immediate.
Ported in successfully within 2 days.

Does the plan start upon you activating it by plucking in sim card and activation code or does it start from the day you order/sign up?

Not on the date you signed up online. The plan cycle starts once you activated the SIM. Eg. SIM activated on 6 Nov, expired on 6 Dec, plan renewal on 7 Dec.

If you go to the retailer, the sign-up date is also the activation date.

If go to retailer that is not one of the SIM pick up location for port-in sign up, can collect the psychical SIM immediately from this retailer or still need to travel to SIM pick up location to collect the SIM card?

I'm looking to port out by end of the month. As not in Sg now, so thinking to apply online for sim card via mail this week, sim card via mail should be received before Christmas and can activate it for port-in when I go for holiday from Christmas to year end. Think this should be workable

They will issue you the physical SIM. No need to travel to SIM pick up location. 🙂

Should be ok if your SIM card arrived in time.
The SIM needs to be activated within 14 days.
If the activation code expired, need to email them for assistance.

After application successfully submitted online, will get email and text with numbers that the retailer will ask for at pickup point.

Just be mindful of any possible yearend mail delay. Also possibility of other hiccups. 🤞

i was in BKK last week and the APAC roaming worked flawlessly, felt like the connection and speed is even better than in SG. i was getting 5G almost throughout the whole trip.

OTP from SG is a little unstable, at times i received them immediately, at times the sms only came few hours later.

10GB is really great, its definitely enough for average usage (whatsapp, navigation, apps booking, social media, general browsing) for a 4 to 5 days trip.

Also received a call from SG and both parties can hear each other clearly.

Too many pages hard to read. Give up after 10 pages. Have some questions. Sorry if they are repeated.

I was thinking to port my line over. Im concerned abt the coverage. Good enough anot? Currently using m1 and its getting worst bth alr. I have another simba sim for work also cmi. Certain place no network at all and its not underground. So if Eight coverage is ok i port both over.

Good enough anot? Good enough for what?

I'm using M1, ST, snoozing Maxx, Eight, and Simba. YMMV but I find the last 2 are best used as a combo.

Cell reception depends heavily on the location that you frequent.

IMO, no harm trying out Eight for just $8. If it doesn't perform to your expectations, you can port over to a Singtel network.

Recommend to test. Unfortunately this depends on your location and timing. Would not recommend both sim from same telco, good to have 2 to alternate

i find eight excellent _for_me_. it's my main number
if you frequent the same places, travel the same routes, at the same time, use the same phone model, then you too will find it excellent.

outside of my travel patterns, i can't speak for it. You can use the search button at the top of the page.
or pony up for a sim and try it out yourself. no commitment beyond a month, so that should be affordable, and it will yield you definitive results.

Japan where? more rural areas also ok? Think Jp only Rakuten and KDDI

How to get the $3 shopee voucher?
Auto connect to KDDI and I stayed mainly in the Tokyo city areas. Once roaming, the connection is dependent on the partner's network. The $3 voucher was randomly given to me. Now, I have a $2 voucher in my account.
