Quick question, can't find in eight's FAQ.

Does eight has any talktime limit before the line gets cut off?

For GOMO and heya, there's a one hour call duration before the phone line gets cut off. "As a fraud control measure, each incoming and outgoing call will be cut off automatically at 1 hour call duration."

I would assume the above is a Singtel only "feature", for eight, we can use our talk time until our plan's limit is reached right?
You need to call who until exceed one hour sia? Even my workplace teams meeting auto cut off 1 hour max for work life balance.

Am trying to port in my Maxx number under the $8 per month plan, but i'm getting error i have maxed out my number of sims with eight telco.

"Uh-oh, looks like you already have maxed out your number of SIM cards with us! If you would like to know about your existing mobile services with us; email us at helpme@eight.com.sg with your Name and ID details."

However, there's instagram post by eight telco that says there is now a higher limit for number of sim cards per pax.

anyone with same issue and got it fixed?

Question :

Does the free IDD call include when u are in foreign country or just for IDD call make in Sgp?

I had looked at Eight website

It said its free IDD call including HK but when i looked a the VOLTE call operator in HK... it was none.

does that mean I can call someone in HK while I am in Sgp...
but I wont be able to call anyone or receive any call while I am in HK?

Just look at the way they give the free 2 months, compared to Maxx's pattern more than badminton for a mere $2 off.

  • What happens if I do not renew my plan?
    • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
    • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

What happens to the line after 60 days? Can continue to keep the number and renew after more than 60 days?

Hi folks, anybody knows whether Simba or Eight Telecom has any issue of receiving incoming calls and sms while roaming in London. Moreover, is it FOC or there is charges involved?

Family member expected to be attached there for work for 6 months. Any recommendations for resolving otp and sms reply such as Uber/banks/etc if whatsapp can't be used to reply messages?

Appreciate any feedback or response from users. TIA.

Eight Mobile currently has 2 roaming partners in the United Kingdom: Vodafone and Hutchison ("Three"). This is becoming 1 network since Vodafone and Three are merging. Both support VoLTE. Eight does not provide a "backup" mobile application for voice and SMS. Eight Mobile's base $8 plan includes 2 GB per 30 days of international roaming data and 588 voice minutes. You can call back to Singapore within these minutes. Outgoing SMS text messages are not supported while roaming. However, Eight Mobile may have just recently enabled Wi-Fi calling which would support outgoing SMS text messages while connected over a Wi-Fi network.

SIMBA currently has 4 roaming partners in the United Kingdom: EE, Three, O2, and Vodafone. Only EE supports VoLTE. SIMBA provides a "backup" mobile application for voice and SMS. SIMBA costs $10 per 30 days (base plan), includes 3 GB per 30 days of international roaming data, and unlimited minutes to Singapore mobile numbers (500 minutes to fixed Singapore lines). Fewer outgoing SMS text messages, though (30 v. 88), but that might only be relevant if connected with Eight via Wi-Fi in the U.K. (I don't think SIMBA supports VoWifi, although their "backup" mobile app works over Wi-Fi.)

Neither Eight nor SIMBA have the United Kingdom within their included international voice calling minutes.

Both Eight and SIMBA appear to be viable for roaming in the United Kingdom (especially if usage is fairly light), but there's some risk involved either way. I think it's reasonable to pick one of these mobile carriers but to use a mobile phone that supports dual SIMs (or at least dual eSIMs). Then, if Eight or SIMBA roaming isn't enough, sign up for a local U.K. SIM/eSIM. I don't think either Eight or SIMBA will work for calling U.K. numbers, so that'll probably be the main factor in deciding whether to get a local U.K. SIM/eSIM.
