what data setup? eSIM also does not need to do any data setup, just add the eSIM using QR code for one time thing.
refering to Wi-Fi network if not how to connect to eSIM to receive information?

Setting up an eSIM is completely digital and eliminates the need for a physical SIM card. Before you begin, make sure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and that your phone is unlocked.

to connect to wifi or network to activate is not a big deal. If u are at the store, they provide wifi for u to activate, if u buy the eSIM at home, u activate using ur home wifi, what is the big deal?

it is not something that really create the deal breaker between physical and eSIM.

physical sim - to change to another phone, u need to have ready SIM tray ejector to eject the SIM tray to put in SIM card. and physical sim u can get it lost, or if u lost ur phone u need to report lost of physical sim also, or worse case, anyone who get procession of ur physical sim can do funny thing before u reported lost to telco.
