hmm not sure when you last played, but the recent Wings feature is really good for playing with friends, it has it's limits but it's much better to find each other and coordinate in RES or conflict zones.

Future updates are on the way, just need time. I mean the game has launched back in Nov last year, and they have been adding many of the promised features and ships.

A vid capture by one of our friends from last weekend's ingame group up. Some of them just returned from exploring so wanted to just group up with them.

Can this be played with a xbox controller?

yes. even keyboard and mouse is fine which is what I'm using.

Even in it's current state it is very playable and has alot to offer, so long as players are mindful that the game has no goals, no real missions and is a great 1:1 sand-box simulation of our known galaxy. If you need hand-holding or missions / goals to be set for you, ED is NOT for you.

eve u control ships in a 3rd person and just click where u want to go and the ship / game does the flying for u.

in Elite, u have to fly first person and you have to fly it yourself. some examples below:

but do note, some may find it boring etc because there are no goals, no story or content in the game. but if you want a 1:1 scale of our galaxy to explore, trade and fight, this is probably the closest you'll get. again this game is NOT for everyone. ask more questions if necessary before taking the plunge.
