Wow Endowus replied to Kelvin's video!

"
Thanks for the video! Would like to clarify a few points raised in the video At 5:45, the fund level fees of the 100% equity CPF portfolio is 0.59% p.a. after cashback, after adding Endowus fees of 0.4% p.a. it will be 0.99% p.a.. Just to be clear, our clients pay only 0.4% p.a. to us on a quarterly basis. The fund level fees are deducted by the fund managers. At 9:33, the fees charged by Endowus on Fund Smart depends on the number of funds you have within the goal/portfolio. If you have a single fund, such as the Infinity Global Class C fund, it will be 0.3% p.a.. Conversely, if you have 2 or more funds in the goal/portfolio, it will be 0.4%p.a.. As you mentioned, one should have a longer term investment horizon for CPF investing, and should take short term volatility in our stride."

kelv also explained it is strange that one will opt to invest in Robos like $owl which has ONLY 1 fund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i see at one point so many threads spammed in the forums asking abt Moneyowl, i m puzzled too
I alwys believed in "Less is MORE" but not less till it is just 1 fund!!!!!!!!!!!

How fast are the funds credited after requesting ENDOWUS/bank transfer funds back from CPF-IA to OA? Got any fees involved in that process?

Endwus wanna focus on jp investmts as yen has weakend??

Missing Japan? Take flight with its leading firms on the Endowus Fund Smart platform

— the Fidelity Global Financial Services Fund and the FSSA Japan Equity Fund.

Managed by Fidelity and First Sentier respectively, they are designed to provide exposure to high-quality equity names in the financial sector and in Japan

Who will strategise ur pf/eqty/bond invesmt according to currencies?
(not talking abt trading currencies)
Having said that jp equities indeed has alot stronger in EsG!!!

some clarification. if i change my CPFIA from UOB to OCBC/DBS, does it affect my Endowus CPF OA investment? cos i can see in my UOB iBanking under holdings it has this description called "UOBKAYHIAN". Does that mean I'm stuck with UOB or it's ok to change bank provider?

UOB currently charges the lowest fees for CPF investments, so why change to OCBC/DBS? DBS charges the most, btw.

are you referring to each time we pump money inside Endowus, $2 fees charged for UOB vs $2.50 for others?

i see quarterly service fee is $2 standard for all 3 banks so that one is even for all.

can you share how much is their charges?
Yes, only quarterly fee is the same for all three. For the other charge, UOB charges $2, while OCBC and DBS charges $2.50. However, DBS also imposes the CDP affirmation fee of $0.35; they say they collect on CDP's behalf so not up to them, but the other banks from what I heard don't seem to have this fee. Finally, DBS also has a fee for interest earned. @vsvs24 found that info somewhere I think?

I am trying to get out of DBS CPFIS yet others are trying to join them. Don't understand why.

DBS charge for interest received on government securities while UOB and OCBC does not. When the SGS calendar for 2023 is released, those who buy SGS bonds will be at a disadvantage with DBS. Imagine you buy a 5 year SGS bond that pays interest 10 times.

Also for quarterly charge for shares (not govt securities), while the rate is $2 per quarter, DBS impose a min $5 charge. So if you hold just one counter, you pay $5 and not $2.

The CPFIS charges of the 3 banks are here. Go and compare.

This can be tricky if you change CPFIS. Generally I would say anything that can be held at CDP is safe because it means the instrument is universal.

If not, not sure if you will be forced to liquidate should you close. Best to check with Endowus.

Btw why want to move out from UOB CPFIS ?

Assuming you knew what you were investing in, you'd planned for the long term, no? Equities around the world have dived, but the hope and long term expectation is that they will recover, no?

lose about 7k

facepalm everytime i read this kind of comment.

Investing is for long-term. If you cannot take any form of loss in the short term don't blame the investment firm in the first place.

both equities and bonds have been in a free-fall since the start of the year. you expect Endowus to have magic to generate profit for you out of thin air?
