Anyone using MyRepublic's 5G esim on their Google Pixels?
Works great on LTE with P6A eSIM. I am not normally bothered with 5G connections so I am switch to LTE 99% of the time. Can connect to 5G for sure, was at Funan yesterday and manages 800+Mbps D/L while on only 1 bar network strength.

So I am to tell the MyRepublic store staff to go ahead and register for me right, even though the pixel 6a is not on their official supported devices list right? Today i hesitated to sign up cos the staff said not supported. In that case tomorrow I gotta go to the store again, haiz.

I am travelling to Japan next week and trying to install the Ubigi eSIM.
Question: does one install the account in Singapore or when you reach Japan?
I tried to install and was stuck at "waiting for ubigi cellular connectivity"
So wonder if this works in Singapore?

Haven't tried eSIM from ubigi before.

Usually most eSIM installation (add to your phone) need internet connection, usually it will prompt error if there is no internet connection and wouldn't let u installed.

I will always install the sim a few days early in case hit into issue. So far most of them works fine. Do take note during the installation it take awhile and give u the impression that the installation hung or stuck. just wait.

Thank you, Apex. This is my first time trying esim and it is rather frustrating. I checked Tripadvisor and forummers speak well of ubigi esim in Japan.

Which other esims do you suggest? As long as they work in Japan, I can always try.

Used ubigi for my trip back in Jan.

Installed before my flight, landed with 5g ready to go. At that time I didnt see any other esims at that offer that price with 5g so went with it. Network on docomo iirc so pretty much excellent speeds and coverage throughout my trip around tokyo, fuji and izu.

so how is the m1 network now? the last time i used their esim, it was complete garbage.

198 punggol rd, no network inside the mini mart, cant use paynow.

funan basement 2, lift area zero reception.

ubi area near the traffic police HQ, no network, cant buy my lighting and fixtures with paynow.

gym in upper serangoon shopping centre. level 1 no reception.

many times, the network is slow or just zero reception, incredibly frustrating to use.

so are there any improvements recently?

Anyone tried Eskimo?

It seems that the data eSIM is from Singtel.

SingTel and StarHub technically have the technology to support eSIM as you see above, and with StarHub, which you see through MyRepublic 5G plans (which uses SH network).

The eSIM provision is handled by your provider (e.g., MyRepublic) since ST and SH are just talking to your provider on the backend to provide the line.

still bad, I used M1 physical SIM on my S20 FE, works ok in most places.

I just changed it to eSim for my iPhone and underground no signal, until exit Tiong Bahru and reaching Redhill. It's really terrible.
