Yeah. I am using the leaked pixel 2 launcher and initially get some hang with apps. The letter boxing issue with apps hopefully will be solved in the future as more and more pole get onboard the essential now that the pricing is more attractive . I am also using the pixel camera app instead of the native app. Bascially with the pixel 2 launcher and live wallpapers basically it looks like what the pixel 2 should have been :s22:

- cool, essential team really released security updates as promised very quickly. also fixed the finger print bug that affected pple whose finger will be on the scanner in normal use.

- battery life is amazing compared to my ip7. no more fear of my phone dying in my ride home (approx 9 pm) nowadays. SOT is ~5.5 hours. but i dont do much other than whatsapp, surf net (no videos), read on kobo app.

- getting a bit pissed about how most apps dont make use of the full screen tough. usually there is just a black border along the whole notch area.

Someone managed to get root and also a lineageos rom for the essential phone. This phone is getting higher on my list, especially with the price. Too bad no Oreo rom in sight yet.

Let's see what OP has for OP5T first.

which gcam port or settings?

Hi, i installed the gcam from XDA but realised that it dont work with my front camera. Whenever i switch to front camera there a "Camera Error Cant connect to the camera." but it work fine for the essential native camera..by the way the essential native camera seems better nowsdays...

Depends if you consider the nav bar as screen space also. All measurements below my own with a ruler, may have parallax error.

Using Chrome:
- Including Nav bar is 13.8 cm = 5.43 inch
- Not including Nav bar is 13.1 cm = 5.15 inch

Some apps will give the status bar colour, i.e. Samsung internet browser beta:
- Including Nav bar is 14.3 cm = 5.62 inch
- Not including Nav bar is 13.7 cm = 5.39 inch

I think this phone needs a proper immersive mode to make use of the screen more.

very slippery actually. just be careful lor.

I like nakedness. put case already I feel like it becomes bulky. as for skins, I'm tempted but I always don't put it on well.
