Ask for the name of the person, report back to M1 for cheating customers. I recontracted n gotten 8+ on day 1, and I purchased applecare+ at Apple Store@Orchard this afternoon.

He should have also told you that you can call and cancel fonecare anytime. No problem. Then just buy AppleCare if you’ve decided.

You forgot about those who sold them the recontract phones from telco. Those are activated by the telco, but may still look sealed (I know mine was when I sold mine). So just check incase

Regarding activation from apple.... i got a brand new sealed set from apple not activated but has apple care on it. The apple care is running now but on serial number check, it shows as not activated. So another point to note. Should the phone be activated, the warranty start date will backdate to date of shipping (which was the week before the keynote announcement for iphone 8/8+/X)
