Just find Apple either smart with their marketing or not telling the truth. The screen is not 5.8" or bigger than 5.5" Plus at all.

Take away the notch area and minus the thick black bars of non-optimized apps, you have a really small usable screen, sometimes even smaller than the 4.7" models. Even optimized apps sometimes have 2 slimmer black bars (to compromise for notch, and the bottom "home" bar for you to slide). One good example is Acrobat Reader (which is already updated for X). iPhone Plus models can go full screen. Galaxy phones can go full screen (even the tall S8 or Note8). X will have 2 slim black bezel like bars on the top and bottom. This is my greatest bummer about the phone.

Also the phone runs hot/warm - battery seems to be shorter than my 7 Plus (even compared when my 7 Plus was just out of the box).

Press and hold both Power and Vol Up buttons and then you are given a choice to shut down or SOS. New shutdown combo as the power button is needed to activate SIRI.

Yups tried and it worked. I also noticed double-pressing the power button also activates Apple Pay.

Do note that FaceID automatically becomes disabled when you press this button combo even if you press cancel. It's a panic button feature to prevent people from unlocking your phone (e.g. At a customs check point. They cannot compel you to enter your pin)

this is pretty obvious, you can’t expect a physically smaller phone to have a longer battery life than a bigger one

unless you are saying the battery life of the 8 is greater than the X , which shouldn’t be the case

Hey if i buy from Hong Kong, can i claim the warranty at apple store in Singapore? Like one to one exchange or parts repair? And how will applecare + help in this case?

You might want to be careful with the terms and conditions of the HK Store.

Some one once told me that it's local only for the HK store only. Supposingly some kind of anti scalping drive to avoid resell in China

Great info. Apple even thought of this security feature. in my 8+, passcode is needed only when the device restarts or not unlocked after 8hrs. :D

Lolx a lot of apps still not yet updated to fit ipX screen.

iPhone X has a bigger battery than 8 Plus. But battery life will be shorter due to the higher click speed of A11 Bionic chipset.

Yes. Always double click first to activate Apple Pay and scan your face before putting close to the terminal.

With Touch ID, you can just put near the terminal to activate Apple Pay with your thumb on the Touch ID.
