no what I mean is, apple should have just integrated touch id to the side button just like sony phones to their power button. its easier for apple pay users double clicking the side button then authenticates immediately if it has fingerprint sensor on it.

Doubt will do that. Most likely will concentrate on just face id ... wait for the rest of the apps to support face id. Is just a matter of getting used to it. Just like the removal of headphone jack. (If want to use iphones)

oh then better off with cable charging.. so whats the hype on wireless charging? lol

so to have fast charge, what is the cheapest product to get? excluding the usb-c to lightning cable that cost $34.
Hmm, I suppose it looks different (as compared to previous iPhones) putting an iPhone on a 'hot pan' and charging it to 100%

I notice the App Store says there is an iOS update for 11.1 however the install button is greyed out. When I tried tapping it says you can update only when you have finished restoring from iCloud. I had backed up my IP6S+ to I cloud and then restored to IPX. How do you know when the restoring is complete? All my apps and other stuff are already on the new phone leh.

On another note, I already set up Face ID and I checked settings and its activated there. But when I unlock my phone, it doesn't scan my face leh, it just unlocks. Also my locked Apple Notes don't give the option to unlock with Face ID. Did I do something wrong?

Could be that they don’t want to compromise on the accuracy of Touch ID. That side fingerprint reader on Sony phones only reads a very small area of your finger. I doubt that’s gonna be very accurate, no other manufacturer went that route either.

I don't think there will be a compromise in the touch id's accuracy since there are no reported issues on fingerprint scanners with this model. the recent razer phone appears to be sporting this sensor too. this is apple doing their "courage" thing again. also having other form of biometrics other than face id and passcode is better than nothing right?

You can go to your icloud then scroll down find 'backup' then see what the error message at icloud says. Mine was phone was too hot, need to wait for it to cool down.

Two big concerns for me before buying iPhone X, face ID and no home button, no issue for both after using it. Took me a few hours to get used to no home button and face ID works even when I am on sunglasses or in a dark environment.

Dk about your issue but regarding Notes, I unlocked once with my password after which it prompted me to allow permission to use faceid. From there on, Notes I locked with FaceID

Hmm just checked and now the update button is bold. In process of updating to iOS 11.1. Still don't know why Face ID doesn't lock my phone even though I did NOT disable it.

This is odd. When I go into notes it just tells me its locked and asks for password. No option to scan face. Then again, even when I wake up my phone, it just unlocks too, never scan face or ask for password.

one is they cannot really incorporate touch id with the apple logo with all of the nfc reader wireless charging coil because of its recent design. other thing is they just don't want people covering the emblem of the brand, for the benefit of the company in marketing/sales.

Ok the lock screen mystery is solved. Apparently Face ID is so fast & efficient that when I swiped up, it instantly unlocked thus I thought it was not locked. :s13:

Still doesn't solve the problem about apple notes though. On IP6 it would ask me to use touch ID or enter password. Now it just gives the option to enter password. Refuses to even give the option to scan my face.

For me, I need to enter password first then there’s a prompt if you want to use Face ID for notes.

Or you can check settings under notes and password. Turn on Face ID.
