Correct chiu... Any banks that display singapore dollars over their counter do take in singapore dollars and offer you taiwan dollar.

Hello guys. I want to change 5k sgd to twd. I find dbs give higher rate then money changer i call and check there is no charer for exchange currency. Please advise should i change all in sg? Check dbs web is $23.71 as of now

u see correctly mah? i am looking at 23.844
change about sgd300 to cover your inital expenses upon landing. the rest 4.7k change at dbs

Do note: There is acash restriction on how much you can bring into TAIWAN. The cash declaration will be needed if you have more than 60000 nt per pax. So you can risk it andface the music. Normally is will not kena, but kena then just answer for it.

no, that didn't happen. i went to a random bank at xmd. on their exchange board got show sg currency. i ask the counter, they say dun do exchange for singapore currency, only usd, euro, rmb and hkd

I tried a bank in danshui, the rates were better than Airport rates. Thus i did a change out there. Think it is a matter of luck on your side.

On top of the mentioned currencies, most do accept great british pound and japanese yens too.

The thing about changing at airport, there will be a one off 30nt transaction fee each time.
So do consolidate and change all at one time. Save some 30nt each time you change.

Both above is at Taoyuan Intl Airport. NT$30 admin charges per transaction..

Traditionally if SG(Local) changers is offering above 23.xx then Taoyuan Rates wont be so attractive. If SG side goes below 23 then Taoyuan would usually be slightly better..

But nothing beats DBS Taiwan if you have the time to go change. Just change abit locally and a bulk of it there.
