I'm in blackhat and whitehat marketing.

Both Google and FB ads potentially can be used by the vice for criminal activities.
Facebook is quick to ban accounts even for no reasons.

Facebook limit how much a business can spend. If it is big amount suddenly, it can be flagged.

Some criminals just buy used accounts.

Before one release a new ad or do revisions, they are vet.

The only reason why Facebook seems more got hooked by victims is because Facebook is very good in targeting, for fast awareness and fast reach. You can spam the ad specifically to this specific age, sex and interest.

Google ads on the other hand are useless as they anyhow target. So even from a legit business point of view, it is better to use Facebook ads for most cases. Google ads are trash.

The ads could pass through because the websites look legitimate.

U dunno Linkedin is new Facebook?

U see the function almost same, only some difference is got resume,cv and job posting.

Content have advertising, which call promoting, but mostly not like those scam advertisement. Video no advertisement like Facebook now. Each account can verify, with national ID, education and workplace.

Also more ppl post daily lifestyle, like we take a break and go somewhere or we getting married.etc.

Is LinkedIn becoming like Facebook?

90% of advertisement there are scam.
Account can easily get hacked.
I give up on Facebook / META already.

They need to really revamp their cyber security.
too bad a lot of interest groups and business page are on facebook. Still have to use them. I use ad block to block out the ads.

WhatsApp got any action taken meh?

My family member got scammed so I took a look at the WhatsApp grp, everyone inside belongs to scammer. All sg number acting like real ppl. But they will all come online at the same time one. Report WhatsApp and police already. They use fake app and ask victim to transfer money to a certain bank account. I pretend ask which account, then report to police and bank about that account.

Those numbers are still in use and those accounts are still in use by the scammers... Both sides also can't do anything. WhatsApp got put any effort in weeding them out mehh
There are some legit businesses who uses FB, IG to communicate with customers, even provide PayPal link to make payment for certain products. Not all are scammers but the scammers are giving these legit businesses bad name lor.

Good the truth is out. Facebook is a lousy place, they will not take action even if you report... Better don't use them.

It's probably intentional. We all are the products and those scammers are their clients. SXL should keep calling Meta out in parliament for this.
She already did but her way of doing it is ask for NRIC verification of Facebook users which Meta have pushed back.

May I suggest the platform takes user who reported scams more seriously.

Must have Singapore registered company to have ads targeting Singapore users

Individuals / Companies that have verified their identity gets a tick besides their profile, providing assurance to Facebook users.
