Yes, contentment is bliss, but not in the expense of growth.
Happiness is a balance between contentment and growth.
A happy person is one that strive for higher goals, but is content with whatever the universe give him/her.
A person who is content with what he/she has, but does not have the drive for higher achievement, is living in a bubble and bliss is only temporary. Once the bubble burst, he/she will live in suffering.
Likewise, a person who is constantly aiming for higher achievement, but is never satisfy, is living in suffering now. The day he/she learns how to be content, is the day he/she truly has bliss. Hopefully, by then, the people he/she loves is still with them.
