Feedback on PMP course centre

i signed up with new horizon n will enroll in march class...

Comat is good in terms of their lecturers' background n location (orchad?), but it's expensive n close to NTUC pricing.

one of the diff is also in the lecturer notes...each lecturer also has its own notes and presentation slides...

fyi, i enrolled for PMBOK 5th edition classes and can only attend the exam after 31st July..

bro..comat is in tanjong pagar, not orchard..
since when their pricing is close to NTUC de...???
NTUC offer me $2259 include GST after becoming union member
COMAT offer me $2.5-2.6. Somemore their service very lousy, as if dont want my business.

So far... i think NTUC is better.... Price is 2nd lowest. Comat is highest and very poor in customer service. New Horizon is cheapest now due to their promo but i dont really like its location.

BTW NTUC lesson did include fresh food and drinks for tea break and lunch....the trainer is Jeffrey Foo. I m doing part time. Mine is pmbok 5th edition ...class commencing in 3rd March.

I paid from my own pocket. The price for individual and company sponsored is different. I think self-sponsored is cheaper. At least that's for NTUC learning hub.

They quote me for $2259 after GST. However that is the union member price. You need to join union member to get that price. So i paid extra $30 for union member (3 mth in advanced). Its a monthly fee of $10. That membership can go NTUC get rebates, cathay movie ticket $7.50 etc etc.

The trainer is jeffrey foo...think some bro here mentioned his name before. Another thing is that they provide the lunch as well. Not say i kian peng but its a nice gesture and a plus point. Save my time going out finding place to eat.

i guess its really worth it to go for NTUC then if u r an U-member, but if u really under budget, go for NH. the price gap is huge..

hmmm NTUC quote me 2.5-2.6K for non-union price.
I think it was already after GST because all the price he gave me include GST. I m not a union member..so i register on spot. But since union member can get 4% rebate of ntuc price, i can jolly well pass my member card to my parents to use it when they buying grocery.

btw New horizon was $1988 before GST....if after GST is ard $2.2K...makes not much diff with NTUC....

cobat really did give me bad experience and impression....so i took up NTUC. ERC or start with E... really cannot make it.. dont even bother to call up.

Anyway if anyone who want to do PMP, can try look at New Horizon and NTUC. I shortlisted this two all the while when looking around.

i also agree that it depend on individual if he can pass the test, not necessary depend on training center or trainer. Anyway all the best to your PMP

yes.... i compared few training center's price. NH offer the lowest price among all.. also their service is good though the sales is a pinoy lady

Have a few ex-colleagues now in Singtel who says they were trained in PMP and some other PM courses by Charles Lim from Project Pro - seems like Singtel use Project Pro for a long time already. My ex-colleagues seem pretty happy with the training, but I just want to know if any of you have anything to share about Project Pro, or any other PMP training school not mentioned here yet? I have been bugged by a guy from Nityo Infotech these past few days. I've been very busy all this while. I guess he found my resume on Monster or something and it was only then that I realised that I can apply for PMP with my experience now.

Long story short, OM at work suggests Knowledge Method. Any comments/reviews? Also, regarding CITRep reimbursement/funding, it has a clause that reads:

Commence the endorsed training courses or certification examinations between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (or otherwise stipulated by IDA).

Means I have to get started soon if I want the 50% sponsorship?? I'll be very busy this month and next month is worse cos I'll be somewhat outstationed.

Hope someone has a solution...

you only need to start your course before 31st mar, up to one year to complete the certification. ask around and some training centres can help you out with the scheduling

yes. the course material include some mock exam question and other learning materials (very useful)... however the lesson hardly refer to the PMBOK. Instead the trainer got his own slides which will be given as handout in a ring booklet. This handout will be used throughout 5 lessons.

There is also a few homework.. like getting u to do project charter, WBS and estimation using PERT etc. You will be required to present your work as well.

On sidenote... NTUC learning hub do not provide meals for students anymore...

I'm not sure if jeffery is there still.
I took up and passed about 2yrs back,

NH had another indian teaching but very textbook style teaching.
